Do You Or Have You Belonged To Any Fraternity Or Sorority?

My mother is from Glasgow, Scotland. She had 3 brothers who were Masons. I don't know if her father was or not. I remember reading a bit of a magazine in our home when I was a child, that my mom kept in her bedroom and it mentioned (or was called)......The Eastern Star. I have a feeling that had something to do with this Organization....but can't be sure...... we grew up in the United Church and my uncles were in other Countries by this time. That is all I know about this subject :p

There ARE Women Freemasons but Why anyone would want to join masons is not clear.

In my case I was a 22 year old non religious guy looking for something other than religion to have a positive influence on me.

I was encouraged to join by a family friend when I asked him questions about Masonry. The lessons of Masonry which encompass brotherly love, charity,truth, honesty, justice have served me well.
 
All Shriners (you know the guys at parades in the red Fezzes) Knights Templar Members, Scottish Rite Members, must be Masons and affiliated with a particular Lodge
 
I've belonged to two sorrorities. For what it's worth.
