Do You Play Lottery?

Since I'm subscribed to the National Lottery online I never have to remember to buy tickets. And when I win I get an email telling me it's been added to my account, always a small amount of course, but it's fun to think of what we'd do if we won big - travel, family, charities etc. Often I win £10 while we are abroad but the email title says 'news about your ticket', and when I try to find out the amount the site says it detects that I'm not in the UK and can't access the site! Funny because I always know it's a small amount, but I always think how funny it would be to go home and find out I'd won many millions. :D

Spent $3 on a Powerball ticket today.

The $500M top prize doesn’t even enter my mind.

Other prizes & odds:

$1,000,000 1 in 11,688,054

$50,000 1 in 913,129

$100 1 in 14,494

So I spent $3. Would I be mad if I only won $1M, $50K or $100?
NO!! Not one bit.

We don't play all the time..no..but I'm getting $20 worth of the Powerball one today. I'm feelin' the power..lol

:holymoly:

I do get tired of the local and national news segments "What if you win, what will you do?" segments. Kinda lame.

"Take care of my family, give some to the church, feed the hungry and homeless, give a big chunk to charity". Yeah, sure.

I love to spend that 500 million in my head, Apple. It would be fun playing Santa Claus woohoo...but it's hard to wrap my head around 500 million...but I'm willing! haha. :)

I always hope a group (or several groups) win the big jackpots.

A friend was in a pool at work that won $250k in one of the games a few yrs ago.
7 people got $25,000 each after taxes. Not bad for a $1 investment. (She said other co-workers were sneering and eye-rolling when someone got the ticket at lunch and gave everyone a copy.) Talk about getting the last laugh.

I got into a lottery pool at work

After all the talk earlier, I stepped out and decided to buy some tickets, hadn't any idea what I was doing, I'm so glad there wasn't a line, the cashier had to run my ticket several times before I had it all filled out as it should have been. I was confused about that extra number thing when I was filling it out and put my power number in the wrong spot so she had to erase it a couple of times for it to be clear. I should have just gone with all quick picks. :crying: Now I wait in front of the TV for them to announce my numbers. Righto!

Good luck to you all who played. I've done my lotto service for the year.

The same thing happened to me! A group at the place I used to work got a pool going and we all picked numbers that meant something to us My numbers won! We all went to the headquarters to pick up our winnings and the woman holding the ticket had brought the wrong ticket. She had to drive a couple hundred miles round trip to try and find the right one. She found it in the trash, luckily, and I bought a new car with my share of the two hundred fifty thou.

I don't play the lotteries per se - there was a documentary many years ago about how PA's lottery didn't really give to schools as they said they did - there was some kind of financial hokey-pokey going on - so I became mistrustful of the lottery here.

I DO however play the Publisher's Clearing House lotteries for free :cower:. I have an open window on my browser for PCH and during breaks from writing I'll play some ma-johng on their site, which gives you points which you redeem for gift cards, cash, etc.

So far have won $20 a few times, nothing special, but I'm always waiting for their truck to pull up and tell me I've $5,000 a week for life.

They can't seem to find my house ... :(

They are looking for someone older!!!!!

Well.. I didn't get any phone calls from co-workers telling me I didn't have to bother to come to work any more... so I guess I'm still poor.

Well that sucked, slap me if I ever do that again. One friggen number one. LOL! I'm out, if ever I have an urge again I'll get a scratch off, I like the odds of winning something anything better.
