Do you put syrup on your pancakes?

I love pancakes, but I rarely use syrup. If a pancake is not good enough to eat with a little butter, than, IMO, it’s not good enough to eat. I will use a little syrup if I am eating a special pancake at a pancake house. Like a tropical syrup on a coconut macadamia nut white chocolate chip pancake. But I don’t pour the syrup on the pancakes, but I dip a bite of pancake, lightly, into the syrup.

My husband drowns his pancakes in syrup. 🤮. You can not even taste the pancake when you do that. What do you do?

I use light agave unless I'm at IHOP, then I ask for sugar free syrup. I might be accused of pouring too much on my pancakes or waffles. :D Another unless.....unless I have strawberry banana waffles at IHOP. It comes with it's own strawberry syrup drizzled down two sides and whipped cream. :pYum!

Super thin crepe like pancakes with holes, and crispy edges (take more time because there are 3-4 times as many in a stack) are just made for butter and syrup; sometimes other flavors (preserves), but traditional maple syrup is best; IMO... commercial/heavy box mixes cannot compare...

Enjoy!

Well, Aneeda72 is correct. Pancakes should only have butter on them. I see all you, heathens, dumping wave after waves of syrup. on pancakes. What has that poor, little innocent crepe done to deserve drowning? You wind up with this saturated gooey mess. I could possible see this if it was ketchup on a hamburger, but syrup on a helpless pancake-it's criminal. It's out and out pancake abuse.
