Do you remember a sad song that brought tears?

"In the ghetto" - Elvis.
This was the first 45 I bought as a young girl. I heard the song on the radio and I was intrigued. I did not understand English at the time so I ask my mother to translate the song to me. I was very moved by it, so much so that I bought the record and listen to it many times.
Heartbreak Hotel by Elvis made the same impression on me as a girl.

A couple come to mind, but as I'm an instrumentalist more than a vocalist, I have to include a second tune, done in a very interesting way.

Yes, Kenny G. FOREVER IN LOVE

I played it all the time after my mom passed away. I feel my throat tighten already just starting to listen.

It shows me that Forever can be too long for too short. Even forever in love.

For me the saddest song was To Daddy, written by Dolly Pardon and recorded later by Emmylou Harris.
As a wife and mother that brought tears to my eyes.
I don't usually listen to dreary music, I much prefer upbeat cheerful or humours lyrics but that song stuck in my mind.
Can you remember another very sad song?
(y) Great thread, Raven. So many great songs and beautiful music.

It's never the song. What might bring me to tears are memories associated with the song.
In fact, the best thing about some songs is the era in my life that they bring back.
