Do you remember your first crush?

I was in 3rd grade. It was a cute brown eyed boy named Johnny Zaletti. He sent his friend over to me to say " Johnny loves you and wants you to be his girlfriend" I told his friend " Okay tell Johnny I love him too and I'll be his girlfriend." So then at all the recesses we sat next to each other never talking, just sitting there while other kids sometimes sang the 'sitting in a tree' song at us. We didn't care we were in love. One day he spoke to me. He said " I'm going to marry you someday." I said " Okay". Then he said "Here, " and gave me 50 cents.
I was over the moon about that 50 cents and making big plans to fill a bag with candies. I went home and asked my step mom if I could walk to the store on the corner and buy some candy. She said " Where'd you get the money?" I told her my boyfriend at school gave me the money. She said " Well you march right back up to that boy tomorrow and give that money back! You tell him nice girls don't take money from boys!" My heart sank. I didn't want to be a nice girl, I wanted to be a girl with a full paper bag of candy.
The next day I gave him the money back, but I didn't tell him what I had been told to tell him. I said " My step mom said I had to give you the quarters back." He didn't hold it against me and we remained in love sitting quietly together on the playground the rest of the year.
At the end of the school year we were moving again. My father came in to tell me we were moving. I began to sob to him " We can't! I'm in love! I'm supposed to marry Johnny Zaletti!" My father sat down & said " Honey that's just puppy love." I sobbed even harder. We moved.

I think my first crush was my 5th grade teacher and also 2 boys in the class - Mark and Richard. Busy year.
LOL! I had a big crush on a teacher in 5th grade. He was German. I wanted to say something to impress him. I knew my father spoke some German from ww2. So, I went home and asked my father to teach me something in German I could tell my teacher I had a crush on. So, my father taught me something. I went to my teachers desk the next day and said " ich liebe dich ". My teacher looked a little shocked. I asked my teacher " What did I say to you?" He said " You said.. I love you." I was MORTIFIED. I was so mad at my dad. My dad is a big prankster.

omg!! Lol.

I have never had a crush as such on anyone. I married my first and only boyfriend.

That's a little bit unusual. Did you grow up in a family where the parents were expected to chose your mate? Just ignore this question if you feel it is rude or an intrusion into your privacy.

I have two friends who did that. They met in kindergarten, grew up, got married, and 70 years later are still happy together.

My first crush was Jay. I was maybe 4? He was a teenager I guess. We met at a party at my aunt's sister-in-law's house and I think he was the SIL's nephew, maybe. We read comic books together. Then the party ended and everybody left and that was that.

No not at all. No one can make me do anything I have no wish to do, especially if it was something my parents expected me to do. When I met my husband to be we seemed to gel, I still can't work out why or how, but we did, and are still together many years later.

My first "real" crush was in 7th grade. He had bee-you-tiful blonde hair that he wore in a ducktail with a curl falling over his forehead and he was just a little bit of a "bad boy". "Bad boys" were irresistible. I was infatuated.

I went to the junior high dances every Friday night at the Y and my dream was that he was going to ask me to dance and "Put Your Head on my Shoulder" would be playing. In real life, I was invisible to him and he probably wouldn't have peed on me if I was on fire. But a girl has to have her dreams, ya know? Unfortunately, if the impossible HAD happened and if he HAD asked me to dance, I would have probably fainted dead away on the spot. Can't win.

'Put your head on my shoulder'..a nice one :) I always wanted to dance to Crimson and Clover by Tommy James and the Shondells. I never did get to. My first dance with a boy was to Time of the Season by the Zombies. I still think that song is cool :)

Ah his name was Harry a blonde long haired vikingesqe 13 year old. Who I met on a 2 week camp my folks sent me to. We danced to Stairway to Heaven at the camp dance. Next week was of stolen kisses and sneaked tokes out by the lake. I still remember him getting into his parents truck to head back to the interior.. *Sigh* I was twelve looked at least 16 lol. I still see his blue eyes in my mind. Unfortunately we never wrote and well he will always be my first love in my mind.. Harry wherever you are I still think of you every time Stairway to Heaven plays.. :love_heart:

Sweet. :love_heart:

Arachne, that made me cry. Sigh. My first crush was the purple eyed boy, David. Almond shaped violet eyes, under arching golden eyebrows. Tanned, tousled, perfect. Played the guitar on the beach while I sang. Later we shared our first kiss under the float out in the ocean. Sigh. Perfection.

Those stories are very sweet stories. I don't have any sweet stories like that for my teenage years.

Yes, I was around 10 years old at the time.
Brenda Power was her name, and I went to school with her in Liverpool, and we 'courted' for around 12 months.
I often wonder what became of her.
Mind you.
She missed out on a good life by letting me go! :p:eek:nthego:

You were lucky he didn't say "Vilst du schlaffen mit mir?" (spelling ??)

If that means something suggestive or sexual my dad never would have taught it to me. Ok.. I googled it. Nope dad definitely would not have taught me that

I've shared before there was this boy in junior high that helped me survive those awkward years. I was too shy to talk to him but just being in the same class, breathing the same air...yeah it was true love. He moved after 9th grade and that was that. Until almost forty years later when I stumbled upon him on Facebook. It was a thrill, he grew into a really handsome man.
