Do you talk to yourself?

Well yes, actually we all talk fairly often. You know them as, me, myself, and I.

We have frequent discussions and seldom agree. It takes time to reach a conscience, and when we don't, we just settle with more than one option... when we all agree on something, we stand real firm on that issue, as we believe we probably have the best answer.

It is all about the internal debate that adds to the quality of the final decision(s).

I've lived by myself for a while now. I had three cats. But one by one, they went. When Fuzzybuddy passed, I was going to get another cat, or 2. But then, my health isn't that great. I'm 71. I can't be lugging 25 lb. bags of litter a round. I'm getting hard of hearing-the TV is super loud. Should I subject an animal to that? So I decided not to get a pet. And then I started to talk to my self-a lot. Do you talk to yourself?
It's the only way I can get a serious conversation.

Haha, sometimes I do, but I mostly talk to the wild birds outside. I think they have very good hearing and are always asking for food. Apart from that, I sometimes speak while playing a video game. I play games with characters and storylines, so if someone heard me talking to a character, they might think I've gone crazy.

Frances, if they would think you're crazy, I'm right there with you because I talk to everything! :)

I remember, as a small boy, being in an absolute state of shock when I discovered my grandmother talking to herself while she was washing the dishes in her kitchen sink. I never imagined at that time that I would be doing the very same thing years later when I reached that age.

Yes, I live alone and when I have done something stupid or forgotten something I berate myself in a loud voice but...

....when I have accomplished something which needed to be done well I am just all over myself with words of praise
and complimentsView attachment 355002
I have been known on a good hair day to look in the mirror and say ' not bad girl, could be worse!'
Just to encourage myself.

I had a roommate, Dave. He used to talk to himself all the time, especially if he thought he was alone. He would have these fights with himself. One was about visiting his girlfriend. He wanted to see her, but it was an hour+ drive over windy back roads. He went back and forth over that one for a half hour-he went.
