So they're like "closet drinkers". They give the appearance that they have moved on, but behind the scenes, the monkey is still on their backs.

Perhaps life is all Champaigne and mirrors. Distorted reality (Illusions). Quantum physics is a very weird rabbit hole to fall into. Maybe it's all like the song "White Rabbit" song of Jefferson Airplane. I guess we just dance in the courtyard and be happy.

It's interesting when an old thread comes up and almost none of the names are familiar. Surely that many didn't die but on the other hand if that many have left that's a bit alarming too.

weell it's a senior forum..10 years is a long time ...many people do pass in that time...

However the forum is often just not what people are looking for... for example people might want to be able to discuss politics and you can't here.. and they leave for that reason... or they're helped out the door in some cases by Admin... :D
 
It seems we all want to share our thoughts, we have grown up, older, more senior.
Maybe we wish to have more fun with our thoughts, not so busy, serious, crabby, etc.?
Entertainment for some of us? I/m watching the Earths changing causing Scotland now.
The Horrendous Natural events that caused that rugger transformation from part of
North America to the Atlantic Ocean and Scotland's actual formation today.

Do we all want to say stuff/thoughts no one wants to hear? :ROFLMAO: maybe vice versa?

Over the years I have dabbled in a few forums but right now this forum is the only one I'm active on. It simply fits this stage of my senior life, is entertaining and informative, not too bad apples and is active enough that there's always something fresh to discuss. I like it!
 
Not being a rock chick, I have not paid any attention to the song Hotel California before. So did a little investigation and this is what I found out.

Strange thinking OP to liken this song to ole folks on a senior forum😖

 
Perhaps a thread should be initiated to discuss Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven.' Just don't play it backward!

Alternatively, it might be even more interesting to open a thread for a broader discussion about songs in general. Discussing lyrics and the music itself, all genres accepted? Well, perhaps some limitations might apply; for instance, Rap would be off the table, or rather, off the turntable.

A simple question would be...HOW can you get a 33 rpm turntable to go "Backwards " ? I don't think you can do that. And of course the needle wouldn't like being forced to go "the wrong way " either . JImB.

Actually, they did it as far back as the Beetles when the rumor started that if you play one of the songs backwards on the album, it suggested Paul Is Dead.
Anyway, you put a spacer on the platform and put the record on top of the spacer upside down. Then loosen the head where the needle is, flip it upside down, adjust the weight on the back of the arm which puts upward pressure on the head instead of downward pressure, and then you place the head with the needle on the underside of the record. It's crazy how someone figured that out, but apparently that's what bored teenagers do.
