yes in many ways. We have been married nearly 40 years and we are a good team.

But my experience is by no means unique - especially in younger generations not brought up i n the rigid gender roles we had in past generations.

I know many men who can cook and who do some housework chores.

Maybe you were looking in the wrong places. We always had a working partnership when it came to house and chores from grocery shopping to cooking, laundry and litter boxes. No, he is not up for adoption.

I had a gay male room mate once or twice over the years; I rented a room from him.
He was so OCD, but the floors were clean, the bathrooms were clean, he vacuumed regularly. But he was gay.

Every straight man I ever EVER known and lived with is about 25% as clean as most women..but then again I have cleaned house for many women who work and most were awful...because their spouse didn't clean either?

I was at Key West some time ago and did an improv comedy act , I just got up and did it , it lasted about an hour .

A guy there thought I was Gay and asked me out .

I told him I was flattered but not Gay , in fact I was told to repulsive to be gay , He laughed and said he had seen worse .

So made my day .

Who in the hell makes anybody an expert in ethics or any other cockeyed belief which denies the anatomical difference of being a man or a woman?

There is no moral value system in play regarding that of being a woman or a man. Only in the mind of the so-called progressives it exists.

The act of seeking power over what others are allowed to think is a history wide example of tyranny.

but gender roles are not about anatomical differences between men and women

there is nothing in women's anatomy that prevents them becoming plumbers, electricians etc and nothing in men's anatomy that prevents them becoming stay at home parents, nurses, childcare workers etc

I dont need t o be an expert or a nutcake to appreciate that gender roles are not rigid now like they were in past generations and to appreciate equal opportunity laws that are preventing discrimination stopping anyone pursuing any role.

To relegate a "perception" to "reality" is ridiculous. The "scientists" of the Middle Ages wallowed in "perception" until Galileo and Copernicus straightened them out.

The 'feelings" of a genetic misfit could be politely beheld, but not introduced as science.

Sorry @The Doddering Biker, you are not listening to what @January and @Dave03 are saying. Nobody is talking about "perception." Surely you cannot be saying that women are not capable of being qualified to be plumbers and electricians. You are rambling on about some pet peeve of yours that has no relevance to what this thread is about!

But gender roles being rigid in years past was a cultural perception - this isnt about science or what you call 'genetic misfits.' 🙄

it is about cultural or societal limitations put on men and women aka gender roles - and how that has changed over the last few generations

I have been caring for others most my life. It's just built in to me. I don't regret a minute of that. That is the role I have enjoyed and lived.
 
depends which 'story' you or we or they believe in - the biblical story of the beginning of humans clearly designates specific roles for male and female - and I've often thought if men could donate a rib from which their wife could be produced there may be less divorces?

No, it is not about societal limitations in regard to these so-called victims. It's about the "victim" grabbing for power over the mindset of others. "Over the last few generations" a number of society's differing groups have pulled the same grab for control over anyone who doesn't agree with their views.

The "view" that murder is wrong makes sense. The view that I must call a man with a ***** a woman is ridiculous. Forcing me to abide by this rule or you will destroy my reputation and my job is simple tyranny.

A guy with a ***** is a guy. A guy without a ****** and womb is a guy.

A guy with a ***** who thinks he's a woman is a nut case. Those who agree with his view suffer from an amorphous set of commonsense values. Those who seek to destroy someone with a dissenting view are terrorists. They are the exact opposite of the enlightened they pretend to be.

I have a great nephew named Jordan. He sometimes dressed in a way that made suspect something. Last year my niece informed me that my great nephew Jordan, was now my great niece named Margo. He currently lives in North Carolina so I haven't seen him/her since the transformation. Several years ago, I met his girl friend Brooke, who I later found out was born a boy. His family disowned him when he decided to be a girl. Being a life long liberal, I now have to practice what I preach, and except his, I mean her choice of lifestyle.

Life was so much simpler back in the 50's.
