Do you think Vaping is healthier then smoking?

I tried vaping during one of my attempts to stop smoking. I could never inhale it. It was harsh. Also, I noticed I started losing my senses of taste and smell.

I have since quit smoking, and vaping was a step in being able to do that, but it was not a viable long term solution for me.

Vape and you will die slower from cancer than when you smoke! Either way you eventually lose your health and die from using them...

When's that supposed to happen? I've smoked a pack-a-day for 40 years and I don't even have a cough yet.

I'm starting to suspect my annual lung xrays will give me cancer before my smoking does. But the xrays look good so far.

Neither vaping nor smoking tobacco guarantees you will die from cancer. I'm not saying there isn't a risk, but the risk of developing COPD is far greater than the risk of lung cancer.

"Vaping continues to be a threat to the health of our adolescent population. As of February 2020, over 2,500 patients of all ages have been hospitalized with EVALI and there were 68 reported deaths, of whom 15% were younger than 18 years old [12]. The liquid in e-cigarettes can contain multiple substances including nicotine, THC, cannabinoid oils, flavorings, and additives that are known to be carcinogenic. The THC-containing vape products from informal sources are a major factor in the EVALI outbreak through product sampling and patient reports. Vitamin E acetate is a common additive in THC-containing vaping products and is believed to be a major contributor to the harmful effects of vaping. Vitamin E was found in 48 of 51 EVALI patients’ bronchoalveolar lavage samples in a recent study"

I don't know if it is healthier? However, I know it is addictive because my daughter is addicted. She sits for hours dragging on the stuff and drinking that darn Seltzer juice with the alcohol in it. She starts around 10 AM and is really into it by 11 AM.

If you ask me, she is headed down a dead-end street with no breaks.

I personally don’t know anyone who vapes, although there are shops that cater to the vape crowd around here. Vaping supposedly is a problem in secondary schools as it doesn’t “broadcast” it’s user as much, and is easier to conceal than cigarettes. Both traditional tobacco smoking and vaping are nicotine delivery systems and both addictive and unhealthy. The only safe way to smoke is like Morticia Addams, and few are they who can just emanate smoke…. 🚬

Poor Carolyn Jones, died of colon cancer.

Never smoked or vaped in my life. What I do know is
second and third-hand smoke from cigarettes and vaping aerosols contain harmful, toxic and cancer-causing chemicals that can be breathed in. They can go into the body through the skin.

While my mother condemned smoking as a “filthy habit,” sadly this mindset did not apply to alcohol…she drank like the proverbial fish. For some, smoking and drinking go together like bacon and eggs, but it’s more like matches and gasoline. Smoking and drinking combined significantly increase the risk of aerodigestive cancers.

In this life, many are choosing their poisons, convinced that it will never catch up with them until it does…

My first thought was about when I've seen actors vaping in movies. It just looks weird to me in a "what's the point" kind of way. OK, it's to get nicotine into your system. I get the addiction part, but it kind of creeps me out just thinking about that as the purpose. I feel sorry for addicted people. Not being judgemental. I've been there, and I understand. Of course some people don't mind the addiction, and then, I don't feel sorry. Have at it, if you want.

We do not know that is always true. We do know that we ARE dying. Let's compare all the variables to see who will die faster. I guess that would be for another thread.
All smokers know, deep down, that they are hurting their health by smoking! Most try to lie to themselves and make excuses when asked by others. Yet, we all know this is the truth...

I have lived over seven decades now, and everyone in my family smoked! They are all dead. They all died earlier than they should have and died from something that is known to be caused or influenced by smoking. One can deny all they want, but one day they will have to face the music. Hopefully, they quit before that time comes...

I wish you the very best of luck

I believe tobacco is much more addictive than alcohol...! Both can lead to poor health and death...

I put a lot of weight on common sense. Common sense tells me if you keep putting some sort of bad foreign substance, whether smoke, liquid or whatever, into your body for a long time, your body is eventually going to complain and it's going to rebel. You are going to "pay the piper."

Like Willie Nelson sang in a certain song, "If you wanta dance, you gotta pay the band." There are no free rides in this life!
