Do you think your life is 'free-er' now that you're a senior?

Since my husband passed away almost 16 years now, I feel so much freer-er. Before I was at his beck and call because he was so ill. Now I can do what I like and go where I want to. I like to meet up with friends for Coffee and talk about family and the old days. I have a couple of penfriends overseas and like to keep in touch with them.

I can totally understand. The husband passed away in 2022. He was the last of my charges.
I have changed more diapers than I care to remember. And I dont have kids.

I got so used to him calling for me that after he passed for awhile I would wake up in the middle of the night and swear I heard him calling me.

Yes, but not due to my age, it's because we have all shaken ourselves free from many of the restrictions we grew up with. Most of our children and grandchildren are freer than we were at that age, also.

Fortunately, I never felt too confined in my life/lifestyle over the years. But I did feel a lot more "free-er" when I gave up coloring my gray hair
