Since my teens and up till I retired, close to a year ago, I'd always felt naked if I didn't wear a watch.......now I haven't worn one since I retired.

There is a timepiece of some sort in every room including the garage, this computer screen has one down in the corner, the oven and microwave in the kitchen have a clock display, my vehicle has a clock, cell phones tell you what time it is, most all businesses have a clock on the wall, some businesses even have a big time & temp. clock outside in front of there business, the television will display the time with a touch of a button etc. etc.......it just seems that no matter where you are you can normally look in one direction or another and see what time it is.

Anyone still wearing a watch ?

still do ..I tell myself my day does not start until I put my watch on....but I do still work tree days a week a few hours....again

I always wear a watch I like a man's watch precise to the nearest second.

I don't wear a wrist watch around home but always do when I'm out doing errands
and shopping. I really miss my watch if I leave the house and forget to put it on.

Sometimes, when I bother to put a battery in the old one I have. I keep meaning to buy a big sport watch. But I use my phone to tell the time when I'm out.

I agree, if a person is going to wear a watch it needs to be an accurate one.

Mama and I have matching gold Rolex's that we purchased at the Rolex Center in Singapore many moons ago and they are not only extremely accurate but good looking to boot.

I darn sure wasn't going to wear it as a work watch so I put mine in the safe deposit box a long, long time ago......mama keeps hers at home and wears it occasionally when she wants to 'put on the dog'. :)

Not since I got a cell phone. It lives in my pocket when I'm out and about and unlike a watch I don't have to buy it batteries. I wore my dad's wristwatch after he died because it was the kind of watch that winds itself when you wear it and it needed to be worn. But then I needed to sell it so now I just use my phone.

I wore one daily all my life due to my working, since I've retired I never wear one. I do have a sportwatch I wear when we're out camping in the woods, that's the only time my husband wears his also.

Interesting that you mention it. I have several of my Mom's watches in my jewel box but I haven't worn one for a long time. But I know that naked feeling. Instead of a watch I wear a FitBit tracker. Every morning that goes on before my glasses even. The rare times when I forget to charge it, it feels weird not having it on.

I always wore a watch. Cheap old Timex. They lasted forever. I use to go to Walmart or Kmart for new batteries which they would put in for you. They stopped doing that. Now I have to go to a jewelry store, buy the batteries for 3 times as much, for them to put it in the watch for free. Savings zero. I can't seem to pry the back off,or I would do it myself.

Nope, quit wearing them abt 10 or 12 years ago- no matter what kind they are, I either break them or they just fail in a few months. Only reason I did wear a watch was it used to be a requirement, where I worked.

Never owned a watch. Before cell phones I relied on clocks and other things that displayed time but now I just check my phone for the time.

I own, like, 10 or 12 wrist-watches - everything from a circa '70s Mickey Mouse Swatch to a diamond studded Shablool - but haven't worn a watch in probably 15 years. My grandkids have picked out their favorites from my eclectic little collection. I really should take them all in for battery replacements, and start handing them out.

Putting on my watch is part of getting dressed in the morning. I don't need a cell phone and don't want to pay for one.

My favorites are the sun powered ones. I take it off at night and put it by the window and it's fully charged
by the time I get up and about in the morning. This one (an analog) has a ten year battery.

Have always worn a wrist watch. Had a Seiko for many years. When it finally wore out, bought a cheap WalMart watch. Was constantly having to replace the battery. Wife talked me into getting another Seiko, this time the solar powered one. I've had this one for probably 5 years and love it.
Gave my wife a wrist watch for our first Christmas in 1966. She still has it. Was a wind-up Bulova. Had the movement replaced about 4 years ago with a battery powered one.

As some have said, I hate to be late for an appointment. I will ALWAYS be early. My wrist watch gives me the confidence I'm on time.

Yes, we have clocks on the stove, microwave, under-cabinet radio, tv, grandfather clock, alarm clocks, etc. They are usually all at least one or two minutes apart from each other. My wrist watch is the CORRECT time... no matter what anyone says!! :>)
