Do you wear a wrist watch?

I never wear a watch these days. I used to wear one all the time when I was younger, probably up to about my mid 30's. Then I stopped needing to know what time it was at any time and only wore one when I needed that. I stopped wearing a watch shortly after I got my first cell phone.

I wear one less and less. I mainly rely on my phone to show me the time.

Of course, these days, who needs a watch anyway?

My wife and I always wear our wristwatches. It would not feel "natural" for me to not have mine on. Both of the ones that we currently wear were gifts to ourselves on our 35th anniversary, so they have additional meaning. They are also pretty nice without being over the top.

For what it is worth, if I won the big lottery I would not go out and buy a Rolex because of what it has come to symbolize.

I did for years but not since I stopped working. $10 or $20 watch, nothing fancy. now I just use my cell phone.

I wear a watch as a fashion statement. I have given away a couple, but still have 3 .. 2 gold and one gold/silver. My favourite is a large gold one with an opal face that was given to me by my Aussie sis-in-law. I get a lot of comments on it, and have searched the web for something similar, to no avail. Another thing is, opal has increased in price greatly over the past decade.

There is a stunning amount of foolishness surrounding expensive wristwatches, particularly among men. There seems to be an assumption that the rest of us actually pay attention to the watch that someone is wearing. I never have unless it was one of those gigantic things that seem to be in fashion these days, and then I wonder why someone would want to wear an alarm clock on their wrist.

That over-the-top gaudy display of wealth is sickening to me, and Rolex watches are only about midway up the "status" ladder among expensive watches. There are actually businesses that lease expensive watches to men who are trying to impress people.

A couple of years ago I was getting the batteries replaced in my "beater" yardwork watch and started talking to a young man who was standing in front of the Rolex counter. He told me that the shop could not get the Rolex that he wanted for another six months, so he was going to buy a different model right now and come back and purchase the one that he actually wanted after he saved more money. He said that he "had" to have one right now to impress a girl that he wanted to date. I had to resist the urge to slap that lad upside the head. Any woman who is impressed by a Rolex is not one that I want to see my grandson dating.

South Korean shops were full of fake Rolex watches, and they sold tons of them. It is rather sad.

OK, Pecos get down off the soapbox!

Always wear one. My freckles don’t tell very good time.

The battery was recharged by sunlight on my Citizens. I’ll give these to my DDs.

At Christmas time I got an Apple Watch & love it. A large part of the reason was in case of an emergency. I was carrying my phone around the house for this same reason. I have the watch face set up with what I use & need.

No, Never did. I have always had an aversion to jewelry, particularly around my wrists. (Comes from a past life experience.)
and, I never liked watches because I never wanted to know what time it was. hahaha! yes, I'm weird!
Me too. I never wear jewelry either and it’s been so long that if I did it would feel so weird

I just use my phone, the microwave, the stove, my laptop. I don't like having things on my wrists. I usually remove them without even thinking about it -- which led, in the past, to a lot of misplaced watches.

I had a fit bit but had to wear it on my left wrist since my regular watch was on my right one. I am left handed, and I would not feel right without a normal watch. Needless to say, the fit bit went the way that my bracelets have gone. Just cannot stand the feel of something on my left wrist. I do not want a Smart Watch, they are big and clunky and in my opinion, downright unsightly.

I have always been in the habit of wearing a watch whenever I go out and having a watch on helps me to keep track of the time when necessary.

During Covid, I prefer to shop during the "senior" hours that some grocery/drug stores offer, which is the first hour that they are open. I find the stores to be far less busy then and I can usually get what I need and then get out before more shoppers arrive and the lineups begin.

I would never use my phone to tell the time in place of my watch.. I think it's funny to see people carrying a phone in one hand, so they can see the time..or scrabbling around in a bag or pocket to tell the time. Just put the band on your wrist , it keeps your 2 hands free for other things and you can see the time instantly :D
