There's many things in our lives that create stress, and It's how much power we give to those occurrences that can have a negative effect not only on ourselves, but on those close to us. Sadly, health is one of those things that is not usually appreciated until it is lost, and a positive and happy state of mind has an enormous influence on our physical and mental well-being.

It's a good practice to lighten-up and be open to accepting little things in our daily lives that can bring us a bit of happiness and satisfaction. Sharing frequent smiles and laughter is absolutely beneficial to our health. Pain is reduced, muscle tension relaxes, stress hormones decrease and immune strength increases when we sit back and allow ourselves to enjoy.

Laughter triggers the release of endorphins in the body, which are feel-good chemicals. Just a smile can increase the flow of blood through the heart, improve mood and create a new founded zest for life. Making someone else smile when they're distraught can be even more rewarding.

Even troubling situations, where something is making us angry or annoyed, can be turned around by looking at things from a different perspective. It's funny, but just a shake of the head, roll of the eye, and a half-smile can be shared between two people in the moment, and a foul mood can be turned into a more light-hearted humorous event which can result in positive future memories, which are priceless...why?...because they continue to bring us good feelings.

Looking for the positives in life is extremely rewarding. When you give a smile, you'll usually receive one back. Make an angry moment into a 'that's life', or a 'what are you going to do?' thing, and release the intensity of the situation. Browse through the daily comics in the newspaper, you'll be surprised to stumble over a few things that 'hit home' and bring smile to your face and improve your mood. Listen to some good music and go with the flow. :jammin:

There's lots of things that can bring us joy, it's up to us to seek them out and embrace them in our everyday lives and use them not only to our advantage, but to share with others. Life is good, and we're empowered to make it better. Become receptive and reap the rewards!

The last time I tried embracing Happiness she gave me a nasty slap in the face ...

I remember back in the '70's when I was an on-and-off corporate drone, we had to attend seminars on safety, quality, motivation, etc. One of them was on "Comedy in the Workplace", and the presenter made some great points. Unfortunately my co-workers were the uptight sort so I don't think any of it penetrated their button-down noodles.

I do embrace every day and try to be happy, there are just some days that things happen to spoil the day.
