Doctor Says Vaccinated People Are Getting Sick

This is going to be an ongoing problem as Variants continue to show up....this years vaccines may not be very effective on mutations that are surely coming. I fully expect "booster" shots to become the norm as time passes, and more lockdowns and restrictions in the future.

"We’re already seeing preliminary numbers out of Israel where fully vaccinated people are getting sick.”

Which vaccine did they get does anyone know? Also I wonder if natural immunity from those already having had Covid have had any reinfection of any of the Covid strains?

Any numbers on those having had Covid being infected with it a second time?

From what I've read, Israeli people have primarily received the Pfizer Vaccine. That vaccine doesn't appear to be as effective against the Mutation as the Moderna is. So far, it looks like the Moderna 2 shot vaccine is the most effective against All current variants. However, the current numbers could, and probably will, change as time passes.

One thing is for sure....the unvaccinated continue to be at the highest risk.

I just saw 2 reports that said people with natural immunity (who had covid) have a better chance of NOT getting the delta strain than vaccinated people. Their studies showed natural immunity offers 98% protection where vax offers 65 to 85%. One of the study groups was over 2000 people, the other was 1500, I think, but all of them were front line workers. Also the ages ranged from 18 to 80.

That's as assumption based on a pro-Covid-Vaccine stance.

I would get the vaccine if my Dr recommended it, but she didn't. She said she didn't feel comfortable recommending I get it so will NOT go against her judgement. I trust her because when I moved here and had to find a Dr she spent an hour with me first visit going over all my medical and medications currently taking. She removed a couple of meds she didn't feel I needed and sure enough I felt better after dropping those 2 extra blood pressure meds and after blood tests removed my Metformin for type 2 diabetes because it was under control and after 6 months then a year it was still was under control by my change of diet I had done 2 years prior! And I'm getting sick of being labeled ANTI-VAX!

Not that I have been labeled Anti-vax in this particular thread, just venting a bit. 🤪

My mother lives in a small assisted living facility - 20 residents and maybe 15 staff. All the residents and staff received 2 shots of Moderna. About two months after the second shot, people started coming down with the virus. A total of 5 people came down with the virus, 2 residents and three staff.

No one had to go the hospital, and all recovered. The one staff person passed it on to her daughter who had not received the vaccine, the daughter did get very sick, but has since recovered.

This was all pre-Indian variant.

Another friend of mine was fully vaccinated, don't know which vaccine he received. He also caught the virus, He was laid up for a week with severe headaches, he also lost taste and smell.

The U.S. was one of the last countries to curtail travel from India, sounds like they did a good job of making sure it got a good foothold in the U.S.

I saw that also.

I had my second Moderna shot today and feel good about it. I wanted the Johnson one but my doctor said to get the one of the other two due to my blood clot issues. I will get a booster if needed. It was very nice to have the nurse from the health department come to my home to give me the shot so I did not have to get out. Houston Health department has these for seniors if you want it.

Recently in Sydney one infected person at a party infected 24 out of 30 other guests. None of the 24 were vaccinated. All of the other 6 were. The strain of COVID was the delta variant that is much more transmissible than the original strain. We don't have Moderna available, only AstraZenica and Pfizer. I'd say both are doing their job rather well.

Well, at least in this country, we can be pretty sure that the 600;000 or so that died, won't be re-infected.
Your comment has absolutely nothing to do with my question.

"Also I wonder if natural immunity from those already having had Covid have had any reinfection of any of the Covid strains?"
