Does anyone show their actual photo of themselves

I get this, Patty and @CallMeKate. It's not a big issue with me because I simply don't know that many people. I've lived a relatively secluded, quiet life for the most part and I'm just not that connected. Still, like Patty, I generally prefer my avatars.

There is, though, a picture of me on SF somewhere making a scary face, trying to show off my back denture metal, which I thought was so freaking cool. 😅
I had to laugh and agree with you because, my newest DIL married my son who had 2 sons from his previous marriage and she would not post any photo of any family event that the ex was in. Then several years later I see her post the whole family at a graduation. So I looked closer and
had to laugh and knew why. The ex had gained like 40 lbs.

I replaced my original avatar(see attached) with a more recent photo, which AI put a very nice green top hat on, for St. Patrick's Day. After St. Patrick's Day I used the present avatar photo you see, that is minus the green top hat.

I'm pretty cautious about revealing personal data online that might be misused, but I really don't expect a couple facial pictures of an old man to be of high value.

Time softens us all, I think. 🤗 (In myriad ways)

Very nice picture. 🤗

I agree, Marci and Patty... I never considered that it's about getting a pic stolen. It's more like anyone I know (and I know a lot of people from the business I was/am in) would suddenly be able to see/stalk/blackmail (hehe, okay, not that last one!). But yeah, not real keen on my sister, brothers, friends, daughter, or associates seeing all my biz. This is one of the, if not *the* highest ranking senior forums. I can be searching something totally unrelated, and a SF post comes up on Google. @MarciKS @PeppermintPatty
I understand you can't actually see photos from the forum unless you're signed in...

never used to be..it used to be that you could read the forum but you couldn't see the photos...unless you were signed in, which makes sense because otherwise why would anyone bother to register otherwise... if they could read everything without registering..
I didn't know either, til I just checked.
Maybe the purpose of registering is so we can post/comment/participate?

I don't worry about a photo on this forum in any way compromising my privacy, as long as I'm using Sunny instead of my real name, and no one can tell exactly where I live. But we do have to be careful about what we reveal.

And anyway, who is interested in someone who looks like a penguin?
