Yes, it has changed a bit. We used to have several movie theaters, of which all traces are gone. There have been several new apartment buildings erected and the retail footprint is different.has it changed much then?
My hometown is Anderson, Indiana. I left there in my late teens. I no longer go back there because I no longer have any immediate family there. It was a great place to grow up in, in the 60's. I have been back several times since then and it's sad to go back. Anderson was a thriving city because it had several GM factories. GM closed all of their plants there in the 80's and 90's. After GM left town, it went downhill fast. The last time I drove through my old neighborhood, the houses were run down. That's too bad because it wasn't a rich neighborhood, but people took pride in their property and kept their property up. They say you can never go home and, in my case, that holds true.
@QuietByNatureBorn and raised in Toronto.
The city took over the suburb that I live in so effectively I still live in Toronto but I like to say I live in Etobicoke![]()
I love it when Mericans try to pronounce it@QuietByNature
Etobicoke, with a silent "k"
I'm in North York.
That was part of my youth. I’ve spent decades on the other side of the country and expect this is were I’ll stay.I'm in North York.
I can't speak for everyone. But me and my siblings all lived elsewhere at one time or another...and we all came back to home base. And, here we stayed.seems like most people just accept all the changes in their lives including moving ; leaving home etc and are not interested in going back at least not permanently - am I reading this right?
