You're not alone at all Lady. I was using a memory foam pillow for the longest time and liked it, but I started getting a stiff tense neck in the mornings and felt it all day. I don't know it it's true, but it seemed to me that after a couple of years, the foam became harder and perhaps held some humidity in the foam also. Anyhoo, I changed to a My Pillow and although I really didn't love that pillow, my neck situation improved and gradually disappeared.A BIG SHOUT OUT to all that responded. Thank you. I felt I was on that boat all alone but I knew with age comes a bit of stiffness. All in all, I am in a good place in my life and hopefully my muscle tension will catch up with how I feel mentally.
In that time my husband wanted a change from his memory foam pillow and I bought him an Indulgence pillow from Bed, Bath and Beyond for $29.99. It is synthetic down, but felt softer and nicer than their down pillow. He loved it and is still using it. Back sleeper, the stomach sleeper pillow was too thick for us.
The My Pillow I was using felt like such cheap foam pieces to me that I was ready to move on, even though my neck stiffness in the mornings was gone. I got an Indulgence pillow for myself and have been using it for months, and really like it.
I don't know if your neck is an issue, but something to consider if it is. We have to take steps to address every part of our bodies until we find what's best for us.
