Does space go on forever?

The universe was never born. Neither was anything that exits. It/we are in constant flux from nano-second to nano second. The famous Zen question goes "What did your face look like before you were born?"

the next question is::: if there is an edge to the universe then that means the end and if there is an end what holds the universe from getting bigger? and then the next question is: if there is something holding the universe can we cross it to something else? as to the religion quotes herein I have to say the interpretions are meaning less because noone seems to be able to agree on the exact interpretion of the bible.....

Everything would make sense if this universe was not expanding and could be measured in distance. We could then study it and have a better chance of being able to say how it works. It is difficult to read about the universe simply because of what is implied is staggering to the imagination. I can read Stephan Hawkins over and over but only to realize I am lost. The idea of the Big Bang having more energy than all the stars in the universe put together and expanding at a speed greater than the speed of light and there are multiple universes is way over my head and there it will remain.

I'm in favor of the multiverse model with the idea that anything that could happen, does happen in another universe. I like it because it would mean that in another universe I really did ask that cute blonde to go out with me in 1961.

This begs the question "What was before the universe?" The typical answer is nothingness but for nothingness to be correct doesn't there have to be somethingness?
