It counts. It also counts that I always thought Creedence Clearwater Revival got their name from a sign they passed advertising a real revival in your town. However, Wiki says I just made that up in my head.

I grew up a few miles from Jeffery Dahmer, some of you may have heard of him.

Also about twenty years ago a local (married) socialite had her current boyfriend murder her past boyfriend. She served a few years in prision before the case got overturned. That story made national news, a few crime shows and even a book.

How did I miss that one when I watch Dateline every week? I see there's a "Snapped" episode, too. I'll have to catch up. After all, a woman who came in fourth in the Mrs. Ohio contest, must really be something. She might know my town's Pork Queen.

The town that I grew up my younger years (elementary school age) was in the news every now and then, Washington, DC.
The town that I grew up my later years in, Taylorstown, VA... not so much.
