Australia has a welfare system that allows most people to live without going hungry.
Though I have heard over the last few years that this system will be completely phased out eventually.
This could happen as early as 2037/40?
Pundits are saying our welfare system is unsustainable. Well if we keep bringing in immigrants of course it will be unsustainable.
The reason superannuation schemes were introduced was so that governments would not have to fund peoples retirement.
Super is okay for those with full time jobs but as we are seeing, full time is being overtaken by casual (with less hours - less super).
Millions of people do not have a job and this will still be the case in 10 - 20 years time.
Those people will be discarded and crime will soar.
Plus a real negative re super is that the majority of superannuation is linked to the stock market which is almost certain to have a major crash every decade.
I dread the future of humanity for the have nots.
