driving

I know someone older than you who still drives quite well.
I think it depends more closely on monitoring your vision abilities, and your reaction times, to figure out how safe a driver you are, for yourself and for others.

I also know someone else, who should have given up driving, before causing a very sad accident.

aunt marg--i drive a horse and buggy---why do you ask?no i drive an suv--i saw on tv the other night some guy 104 still driving

My mom can still drive though she prefers not to.. She is older than you are and she is still a good driver. I encourage her to keep her license all I can.

I gave up the car in 2019 due to my own intuition telling me
it was time...I had started to notice my reaction time was slowing down, and was not paying attention like I should be...it's a little tough arranging rides sometimes, but groceries
and pharmacies deliver now, and always have amazon for other needs, so it's okay......

my brother's mil drove till over 90... and SHOULDN'T have! brother has story of how she almost hit him with her car... in FRONT YARD as he was mowing the lawn. everybody in her family just giggles... how cute.

i new i had cataract in right eye. had to wait till it was "ready" to remove. ha that surgery in July and within a few hours could see what i hadn't been able to see for several years! very scary!

Good for you, Twinkles!!! Glad you are still able to do that.

when we lived in Denver, I had a female patient who seemed very very elderly at the time. But I was only in my 40’s so who knows, she was probably younger than I thought she was 😉

anyway, she always made her appointments at noon so she could be in the midst of rush hour and therefor go slower 😂. I always thought that was pretty darn clever of her!

My driving is gradually fizzling out.

I don't drive at night, in bad weather, or on the expressways anymore.

I run a few errands and take a few pleasure trips on the secondary roads in the summer but that's about it.

If I get too old to stay in my lane, I will simply drive in any lane I choose (old age has its perks!!!) and yell at those bastids who don't like it. It is MY LANE and you get out of the way! o_O

I'm just hoping that "they" get self driving cars perfected to the point that I can tell the car where to go before I need to stop driving...
By that point remembering to recharge it will likely be one of the bigger issues...

Enjoy!
