So...I'm sittin' on the throne, bored, then the throne starts moving. I'm thinking, "Hey...the plumber just installed this toilet last month; it's not supposed to be moving."

Then, I suspected it was an earthquake. I got up & saw that the water was moving - along with other things.........

😅

I messaged my grandson right away ,but he says they didn`t feel a thing. They live in SoCal-not that far fom Bakersfield. AND they live in a 5th Wheel because he is a lineman and they move frequently. His response was "We live in a trailer-we`re used to it shaking all the time so we didn`t notice a thing lol" My friends in Las Vegas DID feel it though.

I didn't feel it, but according to Facebook, most of my neighbors did. My husband, son and daughter all felt it. My daughter got under a dining room table our son built her a few years ago so that made him happy. They are all in the So Cal area.

I am not happy hearing that they've had over 150 after shocks the last I heard, which was about 2 hours ago. They've evacuated the hospital in Ridgecrest. Some don't have power and everyone is hoping another one doesn't happen during the night.

That must have been scary, sounds like you're okay though so that's good. That was an intense quake, I hope our members in California are okay and don't suffer any damage. My heart goes out to all who were affected. :(

A reporter interviewed Madam to the Stars - Heidi Fleiss. He asked her where she was when the quake hit.

She replied, "I was in bed."

He asked, "Did you feel the earthquake?"

She replied, "My bed doesn't move for less than $1,000.00."

I've always wanted to experience an earthquake, and also a tornado. I guess if you actually lived through them, you may not be so eager to experience them.

We've never experienced an earthquake, but we've seen the damage that tornadoes can do. When we lived in Wichita, years ago, we had several "near misses", and just this past month I was in Jefferson City, MO., the day after a tornado ripped through that town....what a mess....it will take months/years to repair all that damage. Coastal Hurricanes do more damage than a tornado, but people usually have days of forewarning for a Hurricane, while a tornado can hit almost within seconds/minutes. I hope we are never near a tornado again.

As soon as I saw it on the news I texted my daughter who lives in the SF Bay area and her response was "What earthquake?" so apparently it didn't reach that far.

We just had a good one, 6.9, that's big. Here in Orange county it was a rolling motion that lasted about 45 seconds. It was in the same area, and it must have caused some damage there this time. No damage here.

We've lived here all our lives and seen a lot of them. The smaller ones you just shrug off. The big ones get your attention.

I have a son and daughter in LA...they felt the earthquake yesterday but said it wasn't bad. I have another daughter just north of LA in Cambria but she felt nothing. However, today my daughter in Cambria did feel the 6.9 aftershock. Haven't heard yet from my 2 in LA. Still waiting.

Just heard from LA daughter...it wasn't bad there

They are now saying the one at 8:19 PM this evening was 7.1. According to Facebook all my neighbors felt it but I didn't. I'm about 100 miles away as the crow flies. My husband is at our son's in LA area and they felt it very strongly tonight. They ran outside because he lives in a very old rock house with a huge tree hanging over it.

This huge earthquake swarm's epicenter is near a huge military weapons complex.

Fox News

Naval weapons base near quakes' epicenter closed for safety inspections

" As Southern California dealt with the impact of Friday evening's magnitude 7.1 earthquake, an important U.S. Navy facility near the quake's epicenter was still dealing with the impact of Thursday's 6.4 temblor in the area.

Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake was closed Friday as officials assessed infrastructure damage from the earlier quake, Stars & Stripes reported.

The base is located just northwest of Ridgecrest, the quake epicenter... "

Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake

" Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS) China Lake is a part of Navy Region Southwest under Commander, Navy Installations Command and is located in the Western Mojave Desert region of California, approximately 150 miles (240 km) north of Los Angeles. Occupying three counties Kern, San Bernardino and Inyo the installation's closest neighbors are the cities of Ridgecrest, Inyokern, Trona and Darwin. The main gate of the installation is located at the intersection of Inyokern Road (Highway 178) and China Lake Blvd. in the city of Ridgecrest.

China Lake is the United States Navy's largest single landholding, representing 85% of the Navy's land for weapons and armaments research, development, acquisition, testing and evaluation (RDAT&E) use and 38% of the Navy's land holdings worldwide. In total, its two ranges and main site cover more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2), an area larger than the state of Rhode Island."

I was watching a poker tournament in Las Vegas, last night...and shortly after 10PM, there was a short pause when a small aftershock was felt at the Rio casino. The news this morning is saying that there was another major quake during the night. Centuries from now, much of California may be an island.

Or next week...;)

I read in the paper this morning that the western edge of California is moving north at about the rate your fingernails grow. It's going to take a while before we reach Alaska. That's OK with me. I don't like the cold.
