FYI there is no image in the first post. It's just corny joke. Dyslexics often have trouble with reading since letters and words somehow get rearranged in their brain. The title of the thread is "Dyslexia Convention" and Falcon's comment simply reversed the position of a couple of words. Instead of "watching the girl come out of the cake" a dyslexic might read it as "watching the cake come out of the girl". That's all. Radish Rose's and Aunt Bea's comments were in the same vein - change the meaning by rearranging a couple of letters (instead of words).

And certainly no offense intended to those who suffer from Dyslexia.

Thanks, I did grasp all that, Falcon's comment in post #6 threw me, maybe I shouldn't look for things to be too literal. :shrug:

Aha! I'm catching on now!

Actually, in grade school I had learning difficulties which weren't recognized at first. I was left handed, but the teacher forged ahead with 'encouraging' me to write with the right hand.

My reading, writing and over-all scholastic aptitude stunk, I thought I was just retarded, and evidently so did the teacher.

Anyway, once it was discovered that I was a natural lefty, and I was allowed to write with my left hand, it was if a fog had lifted, and my scholastic achievement shot up from rock bottom to the top tier.

Fast forward 55 years: I think my reading / writing impairment is returning, I'm just so dependent on spell-check now....:shrug:

I was dyslexic, still am to a certain extent. Just couldn't get the grasp of reading in the first two years but in third grade, I remember distinctly something going SPROING! in my head and all of a sudden, everything came into focus. I had "math anxiety" too. Still have that.

When in New Orleans once, just for fun, I went to a palm reader. One of the first things he told me was that I was a natural leftie. I said no, I've always been right-handed. He said, no, you really are a leftie and if you had learned to use your left hand, you wouldn't have had so much trouble with reading and math. Hmmmm.

I can write script backwards with my left hand, doing "mirror writing" at the same time with my right. Maybe the guy was right.
 
One last one then I quit - I promise. Many years ago a co-worker told me I was "nucking futs". I had never realized she was dyslexic. :confused:
