Earth Day! What will you be doing for for your Mother Earth today?

It seems most will do what they always do, not much. In fact, some here are giving up taking public transportation and going back to driving to work and not even car pooling. Further, SUV sales are up as gas prices are down...

I will continue to not eat meat or any other animal products which will help mitigate the high rates of GHG's that that industry inflicts on the globe.

OK, but if you have nothing good to pillage or plunder, like cattle, or a freezer filled with chops, steaks and burger, we will not be in a good after ransacking your place...

My carbon footprint is already so small that it's hard to think - reduce packaging waste on groceries by shopping more in bulk.

Stop flushing your personal wipes and baby wipes... look what they are doing to our sewage systems!!

Gross! :eeew: those look like very big rags - Nasty business.

The problem is that the packages say "flushable".... so people flush them... Well, the ARE flushable... in that they are able to be flushed... what they are not is biodegradable. they do not break down in our sewage plants like toilet paper does. Best to throw them in the trash if you are going to use them.

Isn't that awful! I watched a piece on the news about the damage( and cost)that's being done to the sewer systems and I think those things should be banned. I don't use that sort of thing but I'm paying (or would be if I wasn't on a septic) for the repairs and maintenance that is the result! One more way that governments let corporations have their way with us in the pursuit of a 'healthy' bottom line.
