Easter: He is risen....risen indeed

To what occasion Jesus arose? It is said Jesus died on the cross for punishment against the State although the crimes against Jesus were not crimes against humanity, murder, theft or an effort to overthrow the government.

Jesus disagreed and opposed religious corruption by offering himself as replacement to the Mosaic Covenant that included animal and harvest sacrifices. However, people and priestly sacrifice were not sustainable and needed repeating for continued blessings and atonement.

Some say the Holy Trinity was One since time began? I understand the three Holy’s to arrive God, Jesus, Holy Spirit according to scripture.

Jesus died and was delivered over to death. What are the implications of Jesus death? Did Jesus overcome Satan to defeat death? Some say death is sin and the absence of God?

For many years since childhood I tried and wanted to know God personally, no matter how much I wanted to be a Christian all my efforts failed and I was not inducted nor transformed. Finally when I was in my mid-50s God called me to join the band and provided my very own plan of Salvation along with a forever forgiveness voucher and free passage to the hereafter. I wonder why God waited so long to call me into His fold? I was certainly interested long before my life past the mid-century mark. Don't get me wrong, I like who I am and what I know, the only disappointment I have is having "it' a shorter period of time as opposed to knowing "it" in my mid-20s and having more time to enjoy "it". I've heard once a person understands the mystery of life, the search up until that moment is no longer relevant to what is and therefore unimportant.

At the time of my experience I knew it was God calling even though my mind was not at its peak performance. God's been known for His miracles, whether you agree with me or not, years and years of self-medication and herbal supplements compounded themselves within my system as an escape from my reality of 34 long years.

I don't have an explanation why God waited as long as he did to wake me from my sleep. Perhaps time and place have little barring on our desires and a lesson impart God is in control, God knows. Maybe I was on the back burner of God's to do list when my kettle blew?

Seriously folks, for everyone who celebrates Easter may the springtime of your life blossom year-round. May your Golden Egg be the people who love you.

Mr. Ed. That was a very interesting and good testimony. You asked as to why God waited so long to open the door when you knocked. Only God can make that judgement but maybe for some reason you weren't fully on board with either understanding what you were asking for or maybe not willing to fully let go of "self"...And maybe not fully ready to put all your trust in God and follow Him. That's just my guess.
Sounds like you were fully ready in your 50's 👍

You're right that Jesus didn't die for "crimes against the state"...those are only a few examples of sin.

God offered his Son Jesus to pay the punishment for all humanity's sins which was death (Hell for eternity)...for all of humanity's sins whether, large or small, since the time of Adam in the Garden of Eden. Thus, before God could open that door for you, you had to admit you were a sinner in need of a Savior from our sins...just like each of us do. And you did that in your 50's.

But Jesus did not go to Hell for 3 days after the cross. That's not in the Bible. As Jesus neared death, He said, “It is finished” (John 19:30). His suffering in our place was completed.

Jesus' soul/spirit went to hades (the place of the dead...but not hell). He went to “Abraham’s side” or the blessed side of hades. Jesus’ suffering ended the moment He died. So once Jesus paid the payment for sin, He then awaited the resurrection of His body and His return to glory in His ascension. Did Jesus go to hell? No. Did Jesus go to sheol/hades? Yes, according to the Bible.
