I hated these gummy, marsh-mallowy things when I was a child and wouldn't eat them. But they were always SO cute. When they came out with the colors that was even better.

Are those real eggs in those? I've never seen these before.

Yes, the eggs are hard boiled and nestled into the raw dough before it’s placed in the oven to bake.

The old bakeries make individual ones as pictured, larger rings, and braided ‘dolls’.

Today most bakeries drizzle them with a sweet glaze but I prefer them plain.
