Eating Chicken can kill you

...as little as 19 bites may be anough to kill you say Scientists!

It's often touted as the healthier meat choice and America's most popular protein, but a new study suggests chicken may not be as good for you as we once thought.

Researchers from Italy found people who eat more than about 19 bites (or four servings) of chicken per week are more likely to die than those who eat less than 100 grams weekly.

Additionally, the study appears to have found a concerning link between eating too much chicken - generally considered healthier than red meat because it's lower in saturated fat and cholesterol - and gastrointestinal cancers.

The findings suggest those eating more than 300 grams weekly had double the risk of an early death from digestive system cancers - the risk was even higher for men.

It's unclear why consuming just 19 bites of chicken may increase cancer risk, but the researchers have several theories.

They suspect overcooking chicken may create high levels of 'mutagens' - chemical or physical substances that cause genetic mutations - or that the way chickens are raised and fed could contribute to cancer risk.
Okay, I will throw away the chicken thighs I forgot in the oven and cremated. They didn't taste good anyway. 😂

I had blood work Monday and saw the doctor the next day for the results and my 6 month check up. All results were in normal range except for two: AGAP which was lower than normal, and HDL, which was higher than normal. He told me when AGAP is low, that's good, and when HDL was high, that was also good because that's the "good" cholesterol. I rarely eat red meat. I eat chicken almost every day, and a lot of vegetables. I didn't have to read any literature to know that red meat doesn't agree with me. I can tell when I eat it that my digestive system struggles.
Ditto for me. I just had my physical and my HDL was also high. We have a protein, a starch and vegetables every night for dinner. The protein is mostly chicken. We eat salads 5 days a week for lunch and I have... guess what... diced chicken on mine.
I have a craving for red meat about once a week so we go for a good burger. Aside from that, I never eat red meat.

Digesting or eating too much protein can be hard on digestion at times. As might be on the kidneys if the diner isn't properly hydrated. Since chicken is quality protein that might be the issue rather than the source.

This means I should've been in a coroner's slab years ago. Actual the last year because some kinds of chicken haven't risen like eggs or hamburger and I've eaten more chicken over the year than probably the last decade.

Meh. Chugging a pint of Jack Daniels every day for 20 years, and smoking for 50, didn't kill me.

I'll my chances with a boneless chicken breast every so often.

Alcohol preserves and smoked keeps longer.

My grandfather live to 98 y/o. He smoked from the time my mother was a teenager. She used to roll his cigarettes for him, so they were the hard stuff. He lived in NC, the tobacco capital. I'm guessing he smoked for 85 years.

Now, I'm going to go eat some chicken!
Doug, my great grandfather lived ito his 90's , smoked, and drank a daily whiskey.. aside from deafness he was in nowway disabled even at 94.,... he got run over by a bus walking to the pub one day..( truth)... but in reality there was't the additives and poisons in the tobacco and alcoholic drinks back then as there is today... and also people cooked fresh food, no processed garbage with non recognisable additions to your food included in a packet...

True, and I should add that my grandfather grew all his own vegetables and the meats he was eating were surely more pure than they are today.
