Electric cars ......

Don't know if this is true for all makers but I read some add sound to electric cars for some reason. Maybe to keep drivers alert.

It was more for the people outside the car so they could hear it coming. I've found that as long as an electric car is going 10 miles an hour of more it's easy to hear them coming without any additional noise.

My friend that has that hybrid said hers is so whisper quiet she didn't get it turned off one night and it ran all night. Can you imagine?

I did that once with my Altima that has a push-button start. Very quiet engine, plus my bad hearing. Luckily, it was only running for 15 minutes while I was shopping.
I learned to look at the tachometer before leaving the car to make sure it's on zero.

My friend is a lot like me when it comes to cars. She didn't know any better. I'm surprised the seat warmer didn't explode. :p
