Ok, Elon Musk is replacing his janitors with robots; just like Dollar Store, WallyMart and the rest of the "self-checkout" bunch. What is next? Get rid of seniors; replace them with robots. Robots need no pensions, they don't pay rent and they don't shop for groceries. Good thing I'm 76 because the world is getting nuttier by the day.

You just gave all the answers as to why business's use robots. That and they can work 24/7.
Agree the world is definitely off it's axis. :(

Let's see a few of the companies replacing personnel with robots:
Lowes, Walmart, Sam's Club, Adias, Pizza Hut, Nissan, Chipotle,
Best Buy, Honeywell, G.M., Ford, BMW, Mersades-Benz, Macys,
Nestles, Amazon, Uber, Target, Master Card, Shiseido, Marriot Hotels.
Strange you find one man to condemn.

If you owned a company that made robots, wouldn't it be an ignorant
decision not to actually use them?

I've seen the new fry cook, it's nothing special, but it cooks burgers pretty good, the fries need work. But $6 for a burger? Hmmmmmmm BK is $7.49, but it's human assembled.

Boy..do I agree with your last sentence, though I've got a couple of months before I'm 76. If it makes you feel better there have been a lot of thefts via self check outs. Check out (pardon the pun) my post:

The same kind of thing happened when mechanized farming took over the family farm. There are even robots that can pick strawberries. They actually look at every fruit & determine if it’s ready to pick or not. I’m all for letting robots do these kind of jobs. People have better things to do.

Actually your thread title "Elon Hates Janitors" shows this is just another weak excuse to beat him up on public media. Did Musk make the comment to the janitor? No, it was probably some low level manager that works with the janitor contractor in his store giving him his personal 2 cents when asked, from rumors he might have suspected. A janitor would not have access to those corporate persons that make such decisions. Obviously Musk is turning upsidedown, the whole Twitter organization and few if any at this early point know where it is going.

Beyond the OP's subject, Twitter has its own self to blame because it was their board members that sued to force Musk into what was in hindsight a hasty agreement. Musk obviously wanted to back out and made such public, but the cheering Twitter crowd that naively thought it was going to be great for all Twitter employees has found out it their greedy board and its arrogant lawyers cheered on by predictable media elements, made a grave mistake.

Illustration of a large burning clock meant to depict doomsday clock.

I agree to the max !!!!!

Ok, so robots replace people. What are people going to do when they have no jobs? Break into cars? commit crimes against women? Work on Computer scams? Work on Phone Scams? Break into homes? Steal from Amazon door deliveries? Smoke more pot? Yes, the possibilities are endless when you have no work and have 24/7 free time to amuse yourself! Got to pay the bills somehow? No work so it's "God helps those who help themselves."
