In my Case, Scotland....

I think emoji's are cute. My daughter uses them all the time so I'm used to seeing them. jaminhealth my Mom was very good at Gregg shorthand and a friend of mine recently retired from an excellent job as secretary to the president of our local hospital. The reason she got the job was because of all that applied only she knew shorthand.
Sorry if I inadvertently caused the OP unnecessary stress. Mea Culpa.
There is a form of Gregg that is even more of a short cut. I think they were called brief forms. I have fond memories of my early life, good thing. I was never out of work, jobs were always around the corner when I would leave one for whatever reason, now computers have taken the place of many people and even more coming with robots.
Computers and modern methods have replaced certain jobs but have created others.
I just can't imagine the President of the United States dictating a memo to a secretary who then Tweets it for him.
And I just can't imagine a CEO of a big company dictating a letter to a secretary anymore.
Nowadays you can speak into a computer and have it converted to text.
