Emojies - Get no pleasure from them

I think emoji's are cute. My daughter uses them all the time so I'm used to seeing them. jaminhealth my Mom was very good at Gregg shorthand and a friend of mine recently retired from an excellent job as secretary to the president of our local hospital. The reason she got the job was because of all that applied only she knew shorthand.

In all the jobs I had in my 40 yrs of work, shorthand was huge and I excelled. Today, I don't think the young people have a clue and bosses are doing their own computing. ummm

I became adept at because my children and their generation use it. I am willing to meet them where they are, which keeps our relationship closer. My friends do the same with their kids.

And prolly is short for probably.

My recollection of shorthand was Pitman.

I looked up Gregg. Gregg was supposed to be easier because it was just a symbol

With Pitman you had to vary the stroke between bold and light for some words.

I remember one phrase we had to practice. I doubt if I could write it now.

"I paid a dollar for it."

There is a form of Gregg that is even more of a short cut. I think they were called brief forms. I have fond memories of my early life, good thing. I was never out of work, jobs were always around the corner when I would leave one for whatever reason, now computers have taken the place of many people and even more coming with robots.

What annoys me more than Emojis is when we are having a serious discussion on something and someone posts a video of a song or something.

Wait. I'm supposed to stop and watch a video and then rejoin the discussion?

And then I'm supposed to remember what the video was all about?

Computers and modern methods have replaced certain jobs but have created others.

I just can't imagine the President of the United States dictating a memo to a secretary who then Tweets it for him.

And I just can't imagine a CEO of a big company dictating a letter to a secretary anymore.

Nowadays you can speak into a computer and have it converted to text.

My favorite Emojie is the one that is winking as I often say something tongue in cheek and there is usually someone who doesn't get it and thinks I'm serious.

Jam you are only 10 years older than me. I learned something called "Speedwriting" back in the day. I never used it on a job but I've used it a lot in my own personal writing.

The emojies on this forum are so small I can barely make them out or I'd be using them more. Sometimes I just guess.

Not enough new jobs for the People...and being able to afford housing and hearing about teachers living in their autos in the bay area in CA as they can't afford housing. ummmmmm

And maybe you don't live where there are homeless but CA is full of them as they come out here from all over the U.S...can't find jobs in many cases, can't afford housing so out on the streets.

This is Right?
