Enduring is not endearing to many!

Obama's proposal for no sustained ground forces in the war on ISIS was met with rejection by some liberals and with being not enough by some conservatives. But, whatever, the American public in a poll overwhelmingly favors either no limits or some limits to our presence on the ground. Surely you are with the majority as I am...

Increased Air strikes..... increased training and weapons to our allies in the region... which of course are "boots on the ground".... BUT no actual combat troops.. for now. I don't think the President has said NEVER EVER EVER.... it depends how this unfolds. NOW because 21 Egyptians were beheaded.. Egypt is now likely to step up.. until now they have not commented on their participation. Can't we be patient and see what happens now that our ME allies are fired up big time? Why are we always so eager to leap? This is why President Obama is such a great leader... he is deliberate and logical... and keeps a cool head... despite the fire-breathers in DC.

A recent discussion on these ME countries joining together to fight ISIS pointed out that they don't get along with each other to any great extent in many cases, and also don't have the manpower or material to get the Job done. Just like in other conflicts old Uncle Sam may have to provide the troops and armaments to get the job done. Tanks and boots on the ground for the US could only be a question of time...

I sort of got off the topic in my above comment. I originally opposed any direct involvement with ISIS and I continue to feel that nothing we're doing now will be viewed by history in a positive light. For me getting uninvolved ASAP would be most endearing to me.

Ralphy , its' rather endearing that you start each of your threads with the words 'surely you will agree with me' or something similar.:D
