Lol, same thing here. At one point, the mouse was underneath the baseboard heater, which is very close to the floor, an inch maybe? She was digging so vigorously at that heater to get at the mouse that I was afraid she would rip it off the wall. There was no stopping her.

She spent the rest of the day on patrol. No luck finding another one.

I have considered getting a cat but just don't want to deal with the litter box and shedding and if it manages to get outside, it's lifespan would be greatly shortened. Neighbors have outdoor barn cats; we are on their route.

I know, its amazing how Mad they go when they go after prey.... I couldn't believe this tiny thing could turn into such a predator... lol

I'm sure he was a much better mouser than any cat...

Same with my daughters' Dobie... in the mountains where she lived, she had a big barn where the rats and snakes would get into... even with the big metal door closed.. Zeus would know if the rats were in there, and he'd be outide trying to get in...
 
My bossy, meddling, know-it-all sister has arranged a family reunion to be held here in July. Most will stay at a B&B across the road; my favorite sibling, her husband and 22 YO son will probably stay with me, which I will enjoy. Most of the gathering will probably be at the B&B; it is large and well-appointed. There will be lots of alcohol which always leads to mean, pointed remarks which are "just jokes" or "well, it's true, you know". I am thinking of ways to spend as little time as possible with them.

I have an idea...you let them all stay in your house and you go to the B & B. LOL! What is it they say in that stupid Dominos commercial? Treat Yourself!!
