Escaped killer on the loose for 9 days. How's he doing it????

Danel Cavalante, who murdered his girlfriend and possibly left a corpse in Brazil, escaped 9 days ago. He's been seen on surveillance cameras about 5 times. I can see hiding in a tree or shed for a few hours, but 9 days-without a credit a card, cash etc.????? I don't have much experience breaking out of jail, I wonder how he's going for 9 days.

It is quite a cat and mouse game. There are vigilantes looking for him too hoping for a reward. It's real life drama and kind of interesting in a strange way. You kind of hope the poor besieged little guy gets away, but hopefully not in reality.

He's been stealing food from people's houses while they're not at home. Maybe even washing.
There are guesses that he wants to return to his home country.... why? He's wanted there, too.
Just leave him a one way ticket to Brazil.

He's not far from the Appalachian trail. If he gets to that he might last a long time, hiding in the woods and stealing food from campers.
I hope they catch him before he hurts someone else. He stabbed his girlfriend 38 times, in front of her children. He's ruthless.

They say he escaped a Brazilian prison as well. And another prisoner at the same Pennsylvania prison escaped the same way he did but he was unable to avoid detection trying to leave the prison. The razor wire put there because of that escape attempt didn't matter because the guard failed to notice this prisoner even though it slowed him down.

If he made it illegally on the run from Brazil to the US he might be able to get out of that area. Once he gets into a croweded setting in public he can hide in plain site. The danger is he'll need money and clothes so how he gets those is the danger.

Given his size & weight [Authorities described him as 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and 120 pounds (54 kilograms).] it's possible for him to go unnoticed as though he was a young person.

For a small area Data from Chester County's 2023 Point-In-Time count tallied 436 unhoused people on Jan. 25, an eight percent increase from 2022. Homeless tend to be ignored.

All in all escaping in Brazil making it to America shows skill in avoiding police. At least for awhile.

we had an escapee too from our prisons...old fashioned way...out underneath a delivery lorry from the prison. 21 year old Isis Spy & Terror suspect Daniel Khalife

He escaped 4 days ago wearing prison chef clothing and shoes... when they caught him this morning after a massive manhunt he had a whole new outfit on.. was riding a bike on the canal towpath obviously to try and evade all the CCTV 's on the roads and any police sightings.... and carrying a full bag of groceries from our most expensive supermarket chain.... how did he get all that with no money ?

Yes, 38 times and his size and cute elfin looks would make a lot of young women feel safe around him.
same with our recent escapee looks like butter wouldn't melt...

I searched Thursday and Friday with the PSP team, who is actually heading the search. I came down here to Florida earlier this afternoon and have been in contact with one of the search party leaders. They have their suspicions of how he’s been able to avoid capture, but that information must remain anonymous.

There has been an unusual number of escapees this year. The man that was in charge of the area where our guy escaped from has been fired. I can’t go into the details, but in my opinion, his firing should have been expected.

Why is our southern border so porous is the first question I would ask. How many like him have entered and will be up to no good? Why can't our politicians legislate a solution concerning immigration instead of worrying about their job and the next election.

I'm telling' ya: call the Texas Rangers. He'd be back in PA prison so fast that he'd get there before he left!
My great-uncle was a Texas Ranger. He was born in 1888 and served with the Rangers between the early 1900s to the late 1920s. He mostly dealt with gun-smuggling to and from Mexico early in his career, and rum-runners and bootleggers later.

Back then they were basically the predecessors of the FBI. His unit's main jurisdiction was So Calif, all of Arizona and New Mexico, southern and eastern Nevada, southern Utah, and south-eastern Colorado.

He was dark-skinned, fluent in Spanish, and he knew some Navajo and Apache as well, so he was frequently used as a translator, but he also worked undercover as a Mexican or Native American when they needed him to for certain stings and stuff.

@911, would police try to take him alive?

Remember that young guy not very long ago who escaped police custody and evaded capture by living like a survivalist for several weeks, or a few months or something? And he stole food and clothes, but he left a little money for it until he ran out and left IOUs instead. Then some locals helped him out with all that because he'd become sort of a local hero and national legend.

I forget that guy's name. But he wasn't a murderer, if I remember right. He finally turned himself in because he wanted a decent bed and regular showers and he was really lonely.
