As a child and later a tinager, I made quite a number of slingshots.
The handle or "A fork" was carefully picked and cut liliac tree, as the fork vas perfectly simetrical. The rubber was cut from motobike tube, and the leather part was tied with a strong butchers string.
It was quite a craft, to make a good and accurate slingshot.
Later on in life, I fabricated one, and used it as a tool.
"the fork was made out of marine plywood, and to it was attached a small fishing rheel with line and lead sinker.
The spearfishing rubber was bought in fishing accessories shop.
I would lift up a couple of roof tiles on each side of the house, and slingshoot the fishing line trough roof spacefrom one side to the other.
Electrical cable was attached on sinker side, and pulled trough the roof space. BINGO!!.
Crawling trough the tight and uncofortable spaces was not neccesary!
