And if you were only 90% sure would you ask them to be sure or just let it go?

I probably would not ask them myself, but sheesh it sure looks like someone I know. Hmmmm maybe I'll ask someone that also knows them if they have a certain unusual item showing in their avatar.

I would but on their profile they list nothing about themselves, not even their country so obviously a private person. I doubt they would know it was me as I moved and my profile pic is about 10 years old and now my hair is lighter.
 

I don't think I'd asked. First off, many use an avatar that is not a person, like a flower or a boat
and I've only run into one other person from Oklahoma, from the Tulsa area. And at my age,
I'd probably think I must be mistaken, maybe I saw him or her at a restaurant and they do maybe
resemble someone on the forum. I'd more likely asked in a private message, if i had strong feeling
it could be one and the same person. Am I making sense here?
 
I recognized a stealthy stalker that lived in the same complex as I several years ago. She and I had disagreed on a subject in a group gathering once and I was proven right. I had fun sending her on a few wild goose chases on the forum but basically just ignored her jibs and jabs.

Years ago and another forum.
 
I've already asked two or three folks here about their present and past living locations, since they were/are close to mine, and maybe high schools we attended.....got good responses and no one was offended or put off by me asking....you'll never know and will keep pondering if you don't inquire, imo......all thru their profiles and 'start conversation' option.
