Everybody's leaving Florida....at least it looks that way.

We're currently on I-95 heading south from south Carolina. Traffic going north is unbelievable. Motorcycles (Daytona bike week has been closed early). Campers (Disney, sea world, universal closed/closing). Cars, cars, cars. All events cancelled. Everybody's going home.

I would guess I-75 north and I-10 west look about the same.

I was amazed at how many people were flocking to the various theme parks with their children to get a few more hours before they closed.

But people are not cooperating the way we all hoped they would, which has me worried.

I went with my wife to the eye doctor's office for a follow-up visit for her cataract operation a day before.
It was around 11 am and the secretary behind the desk told us this-they had masks for the customers and anyone who wanted one was welcome to take one.

However, someone quietly left the office, no one knows who, and took every one and all of them are completely gone, and they have no more.
So we still do not have a mask. We have gone to our doctors, to dentists, and other health places and always have asked about masks, but we have not been able, so far, to find one.

Same thing has happened at other places.
If we, as a country, do not learn to cooperate with one another and work together, looking out for and helping each other, this will be a lot worse.

at present, this is a very mild event, even so some of us have attacks
of what can only be described as 'weird,' as the above post depict.
there worse than disgraceful, nor does weird explain their behavior.

makes you wonder how we would react if an actual emergency situation occurred
us is a peculiar and dangerous species.

if we did have an acute emergency situation the only remedy would be
(go to the thread about UFO's ) to put a big welcome mat in your front yard
and so it goes...

I remember back in the early 90’s, like maybe 93-94, the east coast had back to back blizzards with copious amounts of snow. Every plane I flew going to Phoenix for those periods were filled with passengers talking about going to a better climate.

Then, about the early 2000’s when Florida was getting hit with hurricanes and I had flights to and from Miami, my planes were filled with passengers going anywhere north or west just to escape the storms.

I have no problem with someone buying up the newest Air Jordan Gottahavems for $200 and selling them for $1000 to some fool who THINKS he's gottahavem......in fact I'm just jealous i didn't think of it. But there's a special place in hell for those who profiteer on items like sanitizer and deprive those who REALLY gottahavem, not just "wannahavem".

humor-no
put these guys in public stocks on the county court house, serve them one
bowl of gruel per day; issue rotten fruit to passer-byes to hurl at these
'gentlemen'

No shortage of snowbirds in this area. Those must be east coast snowbirds.

I'm a Sunbird, here year round.
