Everyday item-Ouch!!

I burnt my leg on the door of the oven, it came up in a big blister, and, weirdly, the next day I saw my daughter and she had a burn in the exact same place on her other leg, off the exhaust pipe of her boyfriends motorbike

Have a burn scar on top of my left hand, behind my thumb. Years ago, I was letting some water boil in an electric skillet I had just used. After a few minutes, I unplugged it, but forgot about the water in it. Tilted it back some and the hot water hit my hand. Said a few choice words and then did something that was very, very stupid. I thought I'd remember something about putting cold butter on a burn. Like I said, "STUPID"!! The butter burned the spot even more. Got the butter off and put the hand under cold water. That definitely helped. Then, wrapped the hand in a small towel. Didn't sleep much that night and called into work the next day. Was able to drive over to the VA Hospital and get the burn taken care of. Was able to go back to work the next day.

Let me put it this way, Sue calls me a walking disaster zone. I have a habit of closing any drawer..Be it a clothes drawer, a drawer for kitchen utensils...On any part of a hand. Either I'm too fast in closing said drawers or too slow removing said part of my anatomy, I haven't figured that out yet. As for a toaster, NEVER put a knife into toaster to retrieve bread when toaster is STILL plugged in. To my credit only did this once.....Mainly because, I'm thinkin', Sue won't let me use the toaster.

I also have a habit of walking into things....Walls, doors .....Sue has threatened to take away my cellphone. I have figured out checking one's cell phone and walking around house is a recipe for disaster.

Then Sue had a roast in the oven and the cooking time was up. So, being helpful, I thought I'd remove it for her. Opened oven door, got oven mitt to hold onto pan which slipped and I grabbed it with my free hand..Which, of course I didn't bother to wear OTHER oven mitt....My yell and obscenities brought Sue a'running to observe roast AND pan on floor, me dancing around holding my slightly cooked hand....

Then there was the mocrowave oven incident.....

So many to list, but one that comes to mind are these...

Diaper Pins

I'm famous for taking my knees and lower legs out on furniture while rounding tight corners quickly. The sadistic designers of such items as coffee tables and even bed posts often bring the hard wooden corners to a point or edge readily capable of removing skin and causing underlying tissue damage. This means limping about for some time afterwards, with bloody scabs often added as a memento of the encounter...
