Everyone enjoy...

One of the traits of people with sociopathic or psychopathic disorders is their ability to be quite glib, smooth and charming, either in person or over the internet. By contrast, normal people can be a bit more rough and sometimes even a little rude. Although I too dislike rudeness, I am old enough to understand that it happens and suspicious of those who're "too smooth". Over-the-top or continual rudeness is stuff for the mods to deal with, so I don't give it much thought.
I'm much more suspicious of people who are constantly bad tempered and rude to certain people, for no reason, ( jealousy?) and slimy simpering, to others....*ugh*

It's no wonder long term members or leaving, or rarely posting now...

People who're constantly rude or ill/bad tempered are usually either trolls or people with ugly personalities, IMO. As for the slimy, my dislike for unctuous, pandering poltroons is sufficient reason to mostly ignore them. Once in a while, though, a poke with a verbal stick feels good.

Compared with many forums, this one is quite tame and friendly. Was it more "saccharine" before?

absolutely never saccharine.. we had our fair share a few years ago of the bad temper rudeness, and aggression we're seeing of late by certain members.

Fortunately we have the glory of the Ignore button.. which I use on with abandon.. but many others are now feeling the enjoyment have been taken out of this forum by having to use the ignore button ...

Pandering Poltroons? I love it! If I were to ever have a band, that's what I'm going to call it....The Pandering Poltroons.

I like big words.............when I was little my dad & I would read the dictionary together, then I would read it by myself.

When my son was 3 I taught him 'metamorphosis' cause it described his favorite cartoon character. My friend's mother actually got angry over that.
