Everything Horsies

@Bretrick I love donkeys. I watched a documentary on them and now I am watching them on YouTube. They are rescues of mainly abused or neglected donkeys. They are located in the USA and the UK. It is very interesting to learn about them and how to care for them properly. I am now supporting one of them located in Texas. They do amazing work and also find families to adopt them if possible.

Could you post that link? As long as they are not being killed...........I cannot watch anything that shows animals being killed or tortured.

There is such a thing as a gaited mule. They are a hot ticket item for trail riders in the southeast U.S. and come at a hefty price, in comparison to a gaited trail horse. On checking an equine sale site, I saw a few for 10K and up to 20K.

The more “lit up” they are in color, the more expensive. The Jacks are most commonly crossed with Tennessee Walking Horse mares or Missouri Fox Trotting mares, but can be crossed with any gaited breed to produce a mule with an intermediate gait that is smooth.

There are videos on this link.

I absolutely abhor those two-horse claustrophobic horse trailers.

I had a two-horse just long enough until I could afford a 4-horse open stock trailer. For quite a few years, I would haul backyard 4H horses and ponies to their annual fair in my stock trailer because many of them never went anywhere all year and wouldn’t load on closed-in two-horse.

Toward the end (when all the 4-H kids outgrew their horse love affair), I was making at least three trips to the fair grounds and the parents were thrilled to give me gas money for the sake of their nerves🤠

I have always owned a heavy 3/4 ton truck so pulling a bigger stock trailer never affected gas mileage.

Beauty is often much more than being pretty.

This is Auggie, a therapy horse at Manegait Farms in McKinney, TX. Auggie is one of 28 therapy horses who have a special personality that enables them to work with all types of special needs children and adults, including military.

Auggie has a sponsor. Most but not all of the 28 horses have sponsors.
