I have to admit I haven't been following this case very closely, but was watching this man on the news in court today. It appears he was caught through DNA evidence. Glad he's finally apprehended, sympathy to his victims, rest peacefully to the ones who are no longer with us. Full story here.

You can imagine how surprised he he must have been when they arrested him. He told the officer he had a roast in the oven, the officer said he'd take care of it.
C-r-a-z-y.
Guess with Genetic testing now, you can run, but you can't hide.

I saw his case on ID tv channel a few times. It left me feeling terrified! Those poor women he raped and all the people he killed! I am so glad they got that SOB.:eek1:

I wish they could find the "Oakland County (Michigan) Child Killer". In 1966 and 1967, he was responsible for the abduction and murder of four children. He would keep them alive for days and then kill them perhaps minutes before he dumped their bodies.

I can only hope the bastard is frying in hell.

His first victim was the son of our back-fence neighbors. I had never met them formally, but did wave to them occasionally. You can bet my daughter did not play out in the yard by herself for a long, long time.

Oh my. You lived that close to a serial child murderer?
How frightening!
Sorry you had to endure that jujube.

Can you imagine the excitement of the investigators along the way, getting closer and closer? How lucky they got to have accessed that DNA!

I wonder how long these labs keep their customers DNA on file?

Hah- he had "a roast in the oven"! Now he's the one who will be roasted.

I can't believe someone couldn't link the cases from the different jurisdictions sooner without dna. They were big news back then especially in those California areas. This suspect/ex cop apparently had an evil & impressive criminal resume including 120 burglaries, 50 rapes and 12 murders. On one hand early as the numbers and cases started to rack up they thought it might be ex military or cop yet with sketches this guy drew the attention of no one back then, a fired police officer who stole dog repellent and a hammer both tools a burglar and killer might use did not ring a bell either.

And of course just like the friends and neighbors say they never suspected a thing his co-workers say the same thing. Apparently him getting caught for shop lifting didn't ring bells among his colleagues. Makes you wonder about what was business as usual in those towns, communities and police forces around that time.

Then people are finally woke to the privacy issues with these genealogy/dna websites. Hello captain obvious. Those same sites lead to a dead end/suspect in Oregon as well.

I think he's going to pull a Cosby and fight every charge until he dies.
