Good Morning Y'all! I just have to tell somebody since I can't tell anybody I know yet! LOL . Yesterday, my stepson, Adam, and his wife BobbiAnn, invited Tony and I out for breakfast. During our conversations, Tony and Adam were talking about our garden, and Tony mentioned that it would be nice to have some help sometimes when things need to be picked. Well, very quietly, as they were still talking, BobbiAnn chimed in with "well in a couple years you will have some help." I heard her, and was trying to decide if I should ask her what she meant. Tony did but wasn't really paying attention, lol. Then she started glancing back and forth at Adam, and he suddenly said "we figured it's about time you were grandma and grandpa, we're pregnant." It was the sweetest moment! Tony had a few tears in his eyes and well the waterworks started for me too, lol. They have been trying for a couple of years now, and this is their first baby. She is only 7 weeks along, so because of different issues we are praying that nothing bad will happen. She's at a little higher risk than normal for a miscarriage, but they believe things will be ok.
Needless to say, we are terribly excited about this. Tony has 2 grandchildren from his daughter, and I have two from my daughter, but none of those grandkids nor the daughters are in our lives, not by our choice but theirs. And that's a whole 'nother story! Neither one of us has ever been able to really be grandparents, or even be called grandpa or grandma.
So for us, this feels like our first grandchild. We have done nothing but talk about how fun it will be to put a swing set in the back yard, let her/him have their own little garden, bake cookies together, spend the weekend with us.......and on and on and on, LOL. I have no doubt that Tony will be one big pile of mush when this baby gets here! We are the only ones that know for now, except for BobbiAnn's mom and Adam's twin brother. They haven't told Adam's mom yet, and are dreading that, just because of the family drama crap that goes on there. So we feel so honored that they have chosen to tell us! I'm about to bust a gut because I can't tell anyone, so I thought I would just share it here!
Woohooo! :tickled_pink::happy:
