Fantastic Food

Real Dover Sole in Champagne Beurre Blanc. It's an incomparable fish. Truly superb. No other sole variety tastes like it. A lot of imitations, but nothing else comes close.

Genuine Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. Not the carp stuff you can sometimes find nowadays. 99% of the crop goes to Asian consumers who pay the huge premium for it. Long ago I described it to someone as "the only coffee that actually tastes as good as it smells"!

The old Pappy Van Winkle 21 yr old Reserve bourbon from the original Stitzel-Weller distillery stock. Hard to believe I used to buy it for $75/bottle and get it without any hassle. The new PVW 21 and 23 aren't even close to the old SW stock. I switched to Jefferson's 100% Straight Rye, aged in the same barrels. Much lighter in body, but that same long, smooth finish that is so distinctive and addictive.

I’d forgotten all about Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. It really is good.

The best fish I’ve had has been caught by family from out east and cooked by my husband.
He can make the best fish ‘n chips made from cod fish.
Another thing he makes is cedar plank salmon with fresh chopped dill & shallots cooked on the bbq. The cedar planks are pre-soaked in water for several hours before using them.
Its so good served with wild rice.
Homemade cheese cake is quite decadent also. Yummm.

My grandfather had a fantastic green thumb and could grow anything. We'd eat tender carrots, strawberries, peas, cantalope and best of all tomatoes. Nothing better than a fresh vine ripened tomato. I really miss that. The produce I buy in the store doesn't even come close.

I've been lucky enough to have eaten in so many countries in europe and beyond,, and I lived and worked in Italy and Germany ( germany's food was by far the worst)... but even though I'd eaten many times in Northern Italy, pastas' and delicious Pizzas'..incredibly the best Spaghetti Carbonara I ever tasted was in a rooftop restaurant in Greece.. also the Greek gyros are to die for straight from the street vans...

.

The first time I tasted a Kimberley's gourmet triple chocolate cupcake, I was in heaven.
