Fast Movements

I must have inherited this trait from my mother who never did anything slowly. Swish swish as she would clean and dust. Wash wash swipe swipe wipe wipe away. The problem for me is since taking a blood thinner I am constantly nicking, cutting, scraping and brusing myself. Friends have told me, "Lon, slow down, don't move so fast". Ah well, At least I can still move, but I do try to avoid Rose Bushes.

Something I really appreciate about being retired is not having to rush to get someplace on time. Driving a car is now actually a pleasure. I don't use the freeways; city streets will take me anywhere I want to go and sometimes even faster. I'm careful not to drive slow and hold up traffic but just relax, enjoy the scenery and ease along. I get to appointments early which is very relaxing. There are lots of pleasures attached to retirement.

Due to my lifelong study of T'ai-Chi I've always taken the slow path. If anything I'm moving even more slowly these days - the rest of the world moves fast enough to balance things out.
