Favorite Movies Starring Seniors

Watched a movie last night on Amazon Prime with John Lithgow and Blythe Danner called The Tomorrow Man. Didn't get great reviews--critics thought it was too light and didn't sufficiently explore the characters. Rubbish. We enjoyed it.

Speaking of Jane Fonda; she and Robert Redford did a movie I watched on Netflix last year. "Our Souls at Night," Very sensitive and original about two widowed neighbors who become more than that after Jane asks him to come over and sleep with her at night -- just sleep -- because she has had chronic insomnia since her husband died. I really liked it, they're both still so attractive, it's hope for us all!

I read "A Man Called Ove," and saw the Swedish subtitled movie version. Liked both.

Secondhand Lions starring Michael Caine and Robert Duvall. :)
Great movie. I have it on DVD, but haven’t watched it for awhile, so maybe it’s time to do that. The ending was really great. The whole movie kind of reminded me of my life without a lion. I lived with my grandparents since I was 9 after my parents were killed. We also had some good adventures. My Gramps was good about getting me involved in Scouts and sports. We had a farm, so I had my job to do there also. And after my Grandma died, much to everyone’s surprise, I was left everything, including the farm. My one uncle was going to sue because he said Gramps told him that when he died, the farm would be sold and the money would be split between their children. His lawyer told him to forget it. The will is valid and will stand up in court.

One of my favorites is The Grand Budapest Hotel for Ralph Fiennes, F. Murray Abraham, Harvey Keitel and Bill Murray.

Another is Hell in the Pacific for Lee Marvin and Toshirō Mifune.

There are a few others but I'm really horrible at remembering titles.

Oh man I’m on page 2 of this thread and am shocked none of you have already mentioned The Bridges of Madison County! Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep. 😂
