Cody Jinks - Same Kind of Crazy as Me.
"There ain't a single thing we own
We'll take with us when we're gone
So I'll just walk the earth awhile
Lend a hand and leave a smile"

Green Day -- J.A.R.

"My friend drove off the other day
And now he's gone and all they say
Is you gotta live 'cause life goes on
But now I see I'm mortal too
I can't live my life like you
Gotta live it up while life goes on"

If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now. It's just a spring clean for the May queen. Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there's still time to change the road you're on. - Led Zeppelin

Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss. - Pete Townshend - the Who.

Notice in these lyrics how each line stands alone as something special.

Phantom of the Opera

Nighttime sharpens, heightens each sensation
Darkness stirs and wakes imagination
Silently the senses abandon the defenses

Slowly, gently, night unfurls its splendor
Grasp it, sense it - tremulous and tender
Turn your face away from the garish light of day
Turn your thoughts away from cold unfeeling light
And listen to the music of the night

Close your eyes and surrender to your darkest dreams
Purge all thoughts of the life you knew before
Close your eyes let your spirit start to soar
And you'll live as you've never lived before

Softly, deftly music shall caress you
Hear it, feel it secretly possess you
Open up your mind let your fantasies unwind
In this darkness which you know you cannot fight
The darkness of the music of the night

Let your mind start a journey through a strange new world
Leave all thoughts of the life you knew before
Let your soul take you where you long to be
Only then can you belong to me

Floating, folding, sweet intoxication
Touch me, trust me, savour each sensation
let the dream begin let your darker side give in
to the power of the music that I write
The power of the music of the night

You alone can make my song take flight
Help me make the music of the night

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

Oscar Hammerstein II / Richard Rodgers

"Time" by Pink Floyd.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away, across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spell

James Taylor, Something In The Way She Moves.

There's something in the way she moves
Or looks my way, or calls my name
That seems to leave this troubled world behind
If I'm feeling down and blue
Or troubled by some foolish game
She always seems to make me change my mind
And I feel fine anytime she's around me now
She's around me now
Almost all the time
And if I'm well you can tell she's been with me now
She's been with me now quite a long, long time
And I feel fine
Every now and then the things I lean on lose their meaning
And I find myself careening
In places where I should not let me go
She has the power to go where no one else can find me
Yes and silently remind me
The happiness and the good times that I know, but as I had got to know them
It isn't what she's got to say
But how she thinks and where she's been
To me, the words are nice, the way they sound
I like to hear them best that way
It doesn't much matter what they mean
What she says them mostly just to calm me down

If heaven was an hour, it would be twilight
When the fireflies start their dancin on the lawn
And suppers on the stove, and mammas laughin
And everybodys workin day is done

If heaven was a town it would be my town
On a summer day in 1985
And everything i wanted was out there waitin
And everyone i loved was still alive

don't cry a tear for me now baby
There comes a time we all must say goodbye
And if that's what heavens made of
You know what I ain't afraid to die

If heaven was a pie it would be cherry
Cool and sweet and heavy on the top
And just one bite would satisfy your hunger
Thered always be enough for everyone

If heaven was a train it sure would be a fast one
To take this weary travler round the bend
And if heaven was a tear it'd be my last one
And you'd be in my arms again

don't cry a tear for me now baby
There comes a time we all must say goodbye
And if that's what heavens made of
You know what I ain't afraid to die

Bob Dylan "Blowin' in the Wind"

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, and how many times must the cannonballs fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind

Yes, and how many years must a mountain exist
Before it is washed to the sea?
And how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
Yes, and how many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind

Yes, and how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
And how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind

Here's one a bit on the dark side.

It's not like you think it's gonna be
Not like the movies that you see
Ain't no soaring violins
Just machines and medicines
So bless these pills, bless these sheets
Bless this food that you can't eat
Bless the damned who walk these halls
And god have mercy on us all

There ain't no drug, there ain't no cure
To make it like it was before
Ain't no shelter from this hard rain
The cure for the pain is the pain

Imagine - John Lennon

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us, only sky

Imagine all the people
Livin' for today
Ah

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too

Imagine all the people
Livin' life in peace
You

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Half Your Angels - Graham Nash

Somewhere in heaven wings are taking flight
Flying over a worldly weight of hatred
Hanging over a building in the rain
You got to heaven, blown across the sky
Crying out for the angels to help you
To rise up out of the ashes and the flames

Send me half your angels
We're running out of time
Send me half your angels
I'll send you half of mine
Hope they get there in time
And far below your heaven hearts are wondering why
Why would anyone hurt God's children?
How could anyone harm them at all?

Send me half your angels
We're running out of time
Send me half your angels
I'll send you half of mine
Hope they get there in time
And while you're in heaven, sleeping on the wind
Ask your heart to forgive this evil
Ask your soul to forgive us all

Send me half your angels
We're running out of time
Send me half your angels
I'll send you half of mine
Send me half your angels
We're running out of time
Send me half your angels
I'll send you half of mine
Hope they got there in time
Half your angels, goodbye

We sailed on the ship John B my grandfather and me
Around Nassau town we did roam
Drinking all night got into a fight
Well I feel so homesick I wanna go home

So hoist up the John B sail see how the mainsail sets
Call for the captain ashore let me go home
Let me go home why don't you let me go home
Well I feel so homesick I wanna go home

"Find Me" David Gates

The skies are not as blue when you're not with me
The stars, they never seem to shine as bright
And the hours crack like days across the ages
And a year or two pass by with every night
It makes me know if I should ever leave this world before you do
When you follow you must promise,
cross your heart and promise to

Find me...look hard,
and don't stop, I'll be waiting 'till then
Don't sleep, and don't eat
'till I'm back, back in your arms again
I don't wanna have to spend all my forever without you.
Just knowing that your out there somewhere too.
So darlin...
please I'm begging you on bended knee...
Find me.

Werewolves of London ... Warren Zevon

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of SoHo in the rain
He was looking for the place called Lee Ho Fook's
Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein

Aaoooooo
Werewolves of London
Aaoooooo

Aaoooooo
Werewolves of London
Aaoooooo

You hear him howling around your kitchen door
You better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated late last night
Werewolves of London again

Aaoooooo
Werewolves of London
Aaoooooo

Aaoooooo
Werewolves of London
Aaoooooo

He's the hairy-handed gent who ran amok in Kent
Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him
He'll rip your lungs out, Jim
I'd like to meet his tailor

Aaoooooo
Werewolves of London
Aaoooooo

Aaoooooo
Werewolves of London
Aaoooooo

Well, I saw Lon Chaney walking with the Queen
Doing the Werewolves of London
I saw Lon Chaney, Jr. walking with the Queen
Doing the Werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's
And his hair was perfect

Aaoooooo
Werewolves of London
Draw blood

Aaoooooo
Werewolves of London

I used to sing this song often when I was younger and back packing around the world; especially when things didn't go well and I was having a crappy day. Another favourite traveling song of mine was one of the early Canadian singer,Gordon Lightfoot's "Early Morning Rain." I sang it to myself in many countries of the world. You have to be a back packer or a gypsy at heart to really appreciate this wonderful song. Eva Cassidy and George Hamilton IV also recorded it but Gordon Lightfoot, I'm proud to say, wrote it.
Here is a small part of it:

Out on runway number nine big 707 set to go
But I'm stuck here in the grass where the cold wind blows
Now, the liquor tasted good and the women all were fast
Well, there she goes, my friend, well she's rolling down at last

Hear the mighty engines roar - see the silver bird on high
She's away and westward bound - far above the clouds she'll fly
Where the morning rain don't fall and the sun always shines
She'll be flying o'er my home in about three hours time

This old airport's got me down - it's no earthly good to me
'Cause I'm stuck here on the ground as cold and drunk as I can be
You can't jump a jet plane like you can a freight train
So, I'd best be on my way in the early morning rain

"I will take a chance to be who I'm meant to be
I won't let fear keep me from trying
It's time for me to make a change
to start living the life I want
I'm gonna reach for the sky, way up high
I'm never giving up, it's up to me to see who I can be".

It had to be you, it had to be you
I wandered around and finally found, that somebody who
Could make me be true
Could make me feel blue
And even be glad just to be sad, thinking of you
Some others I've seen
Might never be mean
Might never be cross, or try to be boss
But they wouldn't do
For nobody else gave me a thrill
With all your faults, I love you still
It had to be you, wonderful you
It had to be you
Some others I've seen
Might never be mean
Might never be cross, or try to be boss
But they wouldn't do
For nobody else gave me a thrill
With all your faults, I love you still
It had to be you, wonderful you
It had to be you

"Twilight Time" by Ram Buck for The Platters

Heavenly shades of night are falling
It's twilight time
Out of the mist, your voice is calling
'Tis twilight time
When purple-colored curtains
Mark the end of the day
I'll hear you, my dear, at twilight time
Deepening shadows gather splendor
As day is done
Fingers of night will soon surrender
The setting sun
I count the moments, darling
'Til you're here with me
Together at last at twilight time
Here in the afterglow of day
We keep our rendezvous beneath the blue
Here in the sweet and same old way
I fall in love again as I did then
Deep in the dark, your kiss will thrill me
Like days of old
Lighting the spark of love that fills me
With dreams untold
Each day I pray for evening
Just to be with you
Together at last at twilight time.

only love can break a heart, only love can mend it again

Last night I hurt you but darlin' remember this
Only love can break a heart, only love can mend it again, mm, mm

You know I'm sorry, I'll prove it with just one kiss
Only love can break a heart, only love can mend it agai-ain

Sometime world by Wishbone Ash.

I met a man who felt the same way,
That the world had passed him by.
Told to me all his troubles,
That the world had made him cry.

Life had kept him waiting,
Regretting his pain inside.
Had to feel underrated,
And hated, besides.

Life had kept him waiting,
Regretting his shame inside.
Had to feel underrated,
And hated, besides.

Sometime world, pass me by again,
Carry you, carry me, away.

Rockin' In The Free World - Neil Young & Frank Sampedro

There's colors on the street
Red, white and blue
People shufflin' their feet
People sleepin' in their shoes
But there's a warnin' sign on the road ahead
There's a lot of people sayin' we'd be better off dead
Don't feel like Satan, but I am to them
So I try to forget it any way I can
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world

I see a woman in the night
With a baby in her hand
There's an old street light (near a garbage can)
And now she put the kid away and she's gone to get a hit
She hates her life and what she's done to it
There's one more kid that'll never go to school
Never get to fall in love, never get to be cool
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world

We got a thousand points of light
For the homeless man
We got a kinder, gentler machine gun hand
We got department stores and toilet paper
Got Styrofoam boxes for the ozone layer
Got a man of the people, says keep hope alive
Got fuel to burn, got roads to drive
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world
Keep on rockin' in the free world

You call to me, and I fall at your feet
How could anyone ask for more?
And our time apart, like knives in my heart
How could anyone ask for more?

But if there's a pill to help me forget,
God knows I haven't found it yet
But I'm dying to, God I'm trying to
'Cause trying not to love you, only goes so far
Trying not to need you, is tearing me apart
Can't see the silver lining, from down here on the floor
And I just keep on trying, but I don't know what for
'Cause trying not to love you
Only makes me love you more
Only makes me love you more

And this kind of pain, only time takes away
That's why it's harder to let you go
And nothing I can do, without thinking of you
That's why it's harder to let you go
But if there's a pill to help me forget,
God knows I haven't found it yet
But I'm dying to, God I'm trying to

It's trying not to love you, only goes so far
Trying not to need you, is tearing me apart
Can't see the silver lining, from down here on the floor
And I just keep on trying, but I don't know what for
'Cause trying not to love you
Only makes me love you more

So I sit here divided, just talking to myself
Was it something that I did?
Was there somebody else?
When a voice from behind me, that was fighting back tears
Sat right down beside me, and whispered right in my ear
Tonight I'm dying to tell you

That trying not to love you, only went so far
Trying not to need you, was tearing me apart
Now I see the silver lining, of what we're fighting for
And if we just keep on trying, we could be much more
'Cause trying not to love you
Oh, yeah, trying not to love you
Only makes me love you more
Only makes me love you more
