I agree completely. Our son sent me 1883 on blu-ray DVD for my birthday and, though we still have 4 episodes to go, I Love, Love, Love it! If you haven't seen it (1883), do yourself a favor and make it a priority. It is exceptional on many levels, writing, casting, directing, acting, cinematography, etc.. If it were up to me, it would be given every award in every category it was nominated in! Kudos to Sam Elliot, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, LaMonica Garrett and Isabel May for a project that did them, and the show Proud! Don...So what is the latest series you've watched and why did you like it? I'll start with one of mine....it was 1883 with Sam Elliot, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw and Isabel May.
I loved it because it was a realistic western about immigrants crossing the plains and the troubles they ran into. The oldest daughter of the lead couple (Faith Hill and Tim McGraw) was a head strong young woman who didn't hesitate to go against the conventions of the day. In one of the last few episodes she and the native man that she fell in love with had a spectacular moment of declaring their undying love to one another that is making me weepy even as I write this and remember it. (I might just go back to watch that scene again just because it was so beautiful).
