FB Spyied On Americans

I will never use Facebook because I don't like the owner and his endless childish, apologies and excuses. "We're sorry, we've made some mistakes and we promise to do better," repeat six months later and six months later, etc.

He started Facebook when he was in college as a dating site because he and his friends didn't like any of the other ones as they didn't have pictures and you know a girl's face (and body) is all that counts. Now he's a billionaire "genius." I hate that all the local churches use Facebook to connect with the congregation.

Facebook spied on private messages of Americans who questioned 2020 election

Facebook has been spying on the private messages and data of American users and reporting them to the FBI if they express anti-government or anti-authority sentiments — or question the 2020 election — according to sources within the Department of Justice.

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's founder, blows hot and cold on issues of privacy. Here he states:

"End-to-end encryption, which encrypts conversations from the moment they leave the sender’s phone until they arrive at the recipient’s, prevents anyone in the middle reading it, including Facebook itself."

The above quote I took from an interview with a British national newspaper. He said it more than three years ago.
The Guardian.

Here's just a copy and paste of a few lines of the Facebook criticism on Wikipedia: Facebook has faced a steady stream of controversies over how it handles user privacy, repeatedly adjusting its privacy settings and policies.

"In 2010, the US National Security Agency began taking publicly posted profile information from Facebook, among other social media services.[365]

On November 29, 2011, Facebook settled Federal Trade Commission charges that it deceived consumers by failing to keep privacy promises.[366]

On June 7, 2018, Facebook announced that a bug had resulted in about 14 million Facebook users having their default sharing setting for all new posts set to "public".[369]

On April 4, 2019, half a billion records of Facebook users were found exposed on Amazon cloud servers, containing information about users' friends, likes, groups, and checked-in locations, as well as names, passwords and email addresses.[370]

The phone numbers of at least 200 million Facebook users were found to be exposed on an open online database in September 2019. [371]

Facebook's privacy problems resulted in companies like Viber Media and Mozilla discontinuing advertising on Facebook's platforms.[372][373]

Racial bias

Facebook was accused of committing "systemic" racial bias by EEOC."

If this doesn’t send a chill down your spine, it should. No matter which party you vote for. Whether you use Facebook or not. This is like the KBG making sure you tow the party line or pay the price.

We gave up our rights to privacy willingly, enthusiastically in order to play solitaire on a screen instead of with cards. Apple is named correctly; computers are the temptation of the masses. We exchanged privacy for the "fun" we have with computers. In the name of technical progress we rescinded our privacy rights with our own permission.

Too late now. Use carrier pigeons instead if you're going to plot to overturn democracy. There's no going back.

Sadly , there is a lot of truth in your post ! Perhaps all truth ?

Facebook has become so annoying that it's tempting to leave. But I have made a lot of family connections that I would otherwise not be able to keep up, so I'll keep my account (as long as I don't get put in "Facebook Jail"). I very rarely post anything political on my page. They do collect information but there is a way to make your activities more private. Also I never use the feature that says sign up using Facebook. They get enough information on their own. Why does almost every entity have a "sign up using Facebook" feature...that to me is scary.
