I never heard of this until I read my June issue of Bottomline Health Magazine. This procedure is for serious gastrointestinal conditions. It is used to treat among other diseases C. difficile (C. diff.) a bacterial infection that sickens about half million Americans and kills up to 30,000 people every year. The treatment dates back to the 4th century in China. Their treatment was little cruder as it was done via soup (poop soup-sorry, I could not resist). Today's versions are by colonoscopy, enemas or a tube run through the nose to the stomach. An oral capsule is being tested in clinical trials (a poop pill-once again I could not resist). This treatment is being tested for irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn's disease, diabetes, obesity, obesity, peanut allergies and melanoma. A whole definition of recycling:)
