Female Attire

I thought this thread was about the news shows. Isn't his just a talk show, a bit different? I never watched it, had to look it up.

It's hard to categorize his show, as it is both a news show and a talk show. And a comedy show, often satirical. His opening monologue and his closing "New Rules" segment are always about the current news. The middle part features guests, usually political experts or people who hold an elected office. Occasionally he has a musician or film star as a guest, but there's always a political element involved.

Usually his slant is liberal, but he sometimes veers way over in the other direction. He refuses to be politically correct; in fact, he once had a show that he called Politically Incorrect.

Most of his guests are dressed reasonably, by the standards of today's celebrities, anyway. But occasionally he gets one who makes your eyes pop out. I think it sends mixed messages. How interested can you be in some bit of legislation she is promoting, when her skirt is so short that it might as well not be there?

Yes, but he's just commenting on the news, not reporting it.

If a man doesn’t wear a suit and tie on camera, but wants to look professional, what choices does he have?
If a woman wants to look professional, you’d think the she’d follow a similar conservative guideline.

Men just need to 3 or 4 well-cut suits, and great ties. Some can boost it up with a unique shirt.
The young, local broadcaster who I don’t care for has very broad shoulders and long arms. The sleeves aren’t tailored.

One of national broadcasters must have kept every item she’s worn for the past 30+ years. Some are rather strange. She’s a real pro and you listen to her. As I understand it, they’re not allowed to accept clothes given as gifts by store.

For a while all the stations had the women stand like a man with their feet apart. I’m glad they’re back behind the desk.

There's a couple of guys (commentators, not hosts) on the Fox business network that wear very outlandish outfits! They definitely stand out from the crowd.

I don't really understand why women quit wearing pantyhose with skirts and dresses. I always found my legs got less tired by the end of the day when I wore my "Sheer Energy" hose and I liked the smoothing form waist to toe.

The first time I saw a woman in a suit, blouse and heels with no stockings I thought she had made one of those n mistakes we have in our bad dreams. It was as shocking to me as if a man had walked in wearing a suit and tie but no shirt. The men may enjoy looking at all these bare white legs, but all I see is veiny feet and bruises.

The one time I really prefer to see short sleeves or sleeveless on a woman is on the cooking shows. Anything's better than watching their fuzzy sweater cuffs dragging over the food.

Oh, my, where did Women's Lib disappear to? Betty Frieden would turn over in her grave if she could see the gals today. I used to laugh at any beach because it is always the same: women wearing very tight swim wear while the guys wear those funny looking baggy trousers hanging down to their knees.

What's REALLY dumb about it is those same half-naked women will whine endlessly about being "objectified". All I can say is, if you want to look it, live with it.
Yes, oldaunt, they stick out their boobs and then they apparently "appear" angry that someone is starring at them. It just doesn't make any sense to me!

I guess I'm just getting old because I often wonder if those weathergirls or presenters ever look at themselves in a mirror before they walk in front of the camera.

What I shake my head at are those girls that wear tight dresses that look like they're 2 sizes too small for them. Do they really think making their butt's stick out a mile makes them look like JLo or makes them look appealing or if they think that look is making them look skinnier...they need to think again. They look terrible. Just this old ladies opinion :)
